How the hell do you get a regular???

Ok...so I've been dancing for 1 year and a half....and I think I've never had a regular before. This is the story:

I do good at my club...I always make my money but I always do it out of the customers who are in the club at the time. and i hustle a lot! All other dancers have regulars, even the new ones but me. The only "regular" i've had was an old guy who honestly belonged at a mental center....he used to spend about $1500 on me about once a week but he also was into other dancers. He was at the club almost every night and I was one of his girls. Every night he would go and pick one girl to spend the night with. From around 9 pm till we close he would just hang out and every now and then he'd take the girl to the VIP ( just to talk). But that's it! that's my only good "regular" customer!

I don't know, but every time I get a good customer who says he will come back for me some other night it's because he wants to go out with me....they come back a few more times and then, once he realizes I'm really not going anywhere with him he just stops coming back.

My question is....All these other girls have customer who come to see them about once a week, spend money on them, understand the showgirl-customer relation ship, don't ask to take you out and just enjoy getting dances and hanging out with you....HOW DO YOU GET ONE OF THOSE???????

P.S: is this a stupid question?

not stupid so much as seen a lot.

some girls have a lot of regulars, others don't.

I don't really have any regulars up in vip, but definitely some for multiple floor dances.

personally I'm trying to increase my return business by giving out my email and myspace, and emailing the guys first if I don't hear from them.

I'm also planning on sending out valentine e-cards to all the guys who've ever written me, just to give them a smile and remind me that I'm still working.

Oy. I can't stand regulars. Never been one to keep 'em myself. More trouble than they are worth. Give me a travelling businessman any day.

It's just something that happens. Usually when you sort of get along well with them and they enjoy your dances but other times it can happen with someone who u didn't even think you connected with.

You can't really try to get one IMO, they choose you.

I had a few regulars that were more of a pain than they were worth so I can't give you any tips on keeping regulars but I feel your pain. It was better for me to just deal with the customers in the club at the time.

Regulars suck. Focus on working regularly and making a stable, regular amount of money dancing.

I'm in agreement with other statements.
Too many regulars want your number or email... some way to find out if you're working when they want to come in on a day they're not normally there.

Most of the girls at clubs I've worked at who have regulars have traded numbers with them [most even have a separate cell phone JUST for regulars].

Personally, I like to leave work at work. They know what days I work... if they want to come in and see me those days, great. If not, I'm not going to go out of my way to chit chat whenever.

I've had a few regulars that would come in on some of the nights I worked... but that's about it. I find I can make as much money with them as without them.

Many dancers will see their "regulars" outside of the club (OTC) sometimes strictly on a BUSINESS play for pay type of arrangement and other times just as a platonic "sugarfree" daddy LOL type of arrangements. If both parties are on the same page, book and chapter with each other this can be a win-win for both... if not, "regulars" whether it's strictly inside the club or OTC can be more trouble than they are worth and this is coming from a guy/customers point of view.

I had many regulars, but never saw them outside of the club, never gave out my phone number. I only talked with them through email and let them know when I would be in and which club I would be at. My regulars were all older men with kids and they just wanted someone to talk to, most of the time I never even danced for them. I got my regulars by just sitting down with them at the club and talking to them and we would hit it off.

I like my regulars and now that I am not dancing because I am pregnant I still talk to some of them through email and they still want to give me money or gifts.

I wish we had more traveling salesmen or traveling...whatever. I have a few regs and yes, they do tend to get on my nerves.

Yea for me it just happens. They get obsessed with you the first time they meet, then they come in and only see you---can't tell ya anything about them not asking to be with you IRL...just cuz they're a reg, doesn't mean they're cool....

Traveling businessmen are definitely the best customers, not a clingy time sucking regular that will eventually want a relationship and to go out for free.

I've been dancing since about October and I've had trouble with this too. I'll give a great dance, figure the guy will come in again, but I never see them again. Oh well.

There was one guy that was sort of on the way to being a regular for me but it didn't take long to figure out that he was actually a cheap asshole so the third time or so that I saw him I got fed up and kicked him out. Haven't seen him back since. Oh well.

I used to think that trying to cultivate regs wasn't worth it. Lately I've reconsidered though, so since the New Year I resolved that if I got someone that I had a good vibe with, and who spends a good bit on me, I'll give him my grandcentral number. I think it's key to be overly picky though- with that criteria I've only given out my number once so far, and he did come back. If you're less picky, then assuredly it won't be worth it.

I agree regulars can be more trouble then they are worth. They might start off good but after a while they all start to expect more for less, or more then you are willing to offer...

As for how to get them it sort of just happens for me but i have heard tacky girls flat out saying: "Oh you are so sweeeeeet....will you be my regular!!??" *insert ditsy laugh here*

Mostly, it has to do with establishing rapport with a customer -- having something in common to talk about and good interpersonal chemistry. (You can fake the chemistry to an extent, but be warned you will have to be able to fake it the exact same way every time he comes in, which can get old.)

Give lots of eye contact, listen actively, be genuinely interested in them. Give a hell of a sexy dance, paying lots of attention to the style of dance they like (soft and sensual, a little rough, etc.)

Once the chemistry is there, you usually have to give out some kind of contact information. Many dancers have a dedicated phone that they use only for staying in touch with customers. Others have dancer e-mail accounts, or dancer myspace pages.

Stay in touch once in a while. Not TOO often, or they start to feel like your friends, and entitled to more of your time for free.

Sometimes clubs will let you give out something like a free pass that covers the door charge, or a drink ticket. Score some of these and give them out to the customers you want to see again.

There's a little bit of effort involved in keeping regulars, so be picky about who you cultivate. MOST customers will not turn into the once-a-week-for-the-next-five-years guy. Most average several visits over a few months before they get bored or insistent about meeting you somewhere else. That's normal, so don't be surprised.

Here is what I do: If I hustle a guy and he spends at least $100 on me then after the dance I will say "do you might if I sit with you for a few minutes before I get back to work?" They like this because they see that even after you got their money, you still want to spent time with them. Then I will chat for 1-2 songs and suggest they come see me again and give out my email. I love regulars.

    My sentiments exactly.

I've had two regulars in the past, men who spent over $200 on me every time they saw me mind you, and I actively discouraged them. Because I hate being nagged at for something 'more' than the typical dance experience. It's labourious, but I know it's what some girls appreciate. I think some people just like different hustles.

I have a few devoted regulars, but they just took a liking to me it's not that I did anything out of the norm with them over my other customers. However I do think I'm better to them then most the other customers and take care of them 1st simply becuase my regulars are well trained, behaved, low maintence customers who need no conviencing to spend thier money/good money on me.

No phone calls, no dates, no hours of conversation just simply they feel I give the best lapdance or am the 1 they want to take to the room, end of story. Some are so loyal they go to other clubs and get dances and tell me that they had to stop the girl because after having dances w/me it felt like they were doing it wronge...I freakin laugh to this and tell the girls they are all so lucky I don't suck or fuck becuz these guys get so pussy whipped when I'm not even giving it to them it's just so funny to me to hear this.

Anyhow I do stay away from those who want to be your boyfriends and any of the clubs regulars (those guys that do rooms everynite with other girls) becuz most of them expect the dancer to put out, fight for thier attention, or baby them and I just don't have the time or willpower for it.

I don't keep track of my regulars and I leave it up to them to come in when I'm working soo most of them just would show up the next week more or less around the same time other just know I work weekends and make sure they get my attention when they walk in or ask for me.

I generally like most my regulars and click w/them on some level (some of them I even find attractive/young/rich/hamdsome/ripped-well built/did I mention rich --except I still wish they were girls cuz I'm always going to be gay soo if I choice to play around with them it only goes so far--like 1 hell of a lapdance/grinding season), but still that's only a fraction of what I make so I don't focus to much on them. If they are there great that's money in the bank 4 me when I see them, but if not I am still going to make my money without them. I only focus on my money and making it in ways that i'm most comfrontible with. I'll turn down any customer/regular or not that just not meeting my needs or asking to much of me.To me it's not about any of them, but Franky, Thomas, Jackson..ect Those are the only regulars I need.

If you are making money and are happy with your work, does this really matter?

BTW I've never worked to get regulars. They are always high maintenance. You have to work at getting phone numbers and calling the guys every week to remind them that they need to come in to see you. I used to travel to a lot of different clubs so that I didn't have to try and establish regulars.

I should add that I did have email lists of customers in certain cities to give the guys a heads up as to when I was going to be in town. Sometimes it made me more money. Occasionally it just made the club more money when customers that I had worked on getting into the club preferred a different girl once he got there.
