    Default Stupidity... sells?

A few weeks ago, I was having a TERRIBLE night at work. Stage money was okay, but I could seem to get a dance to save my life. I ended up finding a new hustle: feigning stupidity like my life depends on it.
Don't know why, but on those weird nights it seems to sell dances and private rooms left and right.

    example:
[me - where are you from?
    customer - Denver
me - OH MY GOSH! California is sooo pretty! Do you live by the ocean!?]
Things like that seem to get me a dance 90% of the time... and half of that..., the CUSTOMER will ask ME for the dance.

Does this work for anyone else?

Honestly, I always get the most money from a guy who sees my intelligence. I've hustled guys without showing my intelligence but I've never acted stupid before.

I act stupid when I need to. If a guy needs a girl that giggles and acts like he is the smartest person on the planet, I'm there. I don't do it all the time, but when I do it makes me damn good money. I've pretended that I didn't know sailboats have sails that help them move around. I got a ton of dances because the guy wanted to teach me about his damn boat because I stayed quiet and didn't mention I've been on my sister's sail boat multiple times. Sad but true.

In short-I'm whatever a guy needs me to be.

That's hilarious! I've never faked stupidity per se, but I do have to come to a customer's level occasionally. In general, I talk like an educated upper-class white girl, and I USUALLY don't change my speech for anyone. I could never catch on to slang, I sound ridiculous spewing out ebonics and all that which is so very popular these days! But sometimes it helps to sound less educated if a customer isn't so up to par.

I've tried. I just can't maintain it for very long! A lot of customers do like it but stupidity just IRRITATES me so much, and if I act that stupid for more than a minute or two I want to slap the hell out of myself and the stupid fucker that likes the act. So most of the time it's not worth it, I'd rather just go for the guys who like a classy intelligent stripper.

The ditzy girls do make good money at it though. I wish I could do it myself.

I don't think I'd be able to fake it that much. I'd feel really embarassed whether or not the guy dug it. Glad it helped you out!

LOL! My sister has the same problem! Imagine Cher from Clueless saying "whats poppin my neezy?" That's how she'd sound! LOL. She was called "Black white girl" her entire school career. I on the other hand have an extremely thick Brooklyn accent; so speaking slang sounds fine with my accent. But, I can also turn it on and off when need be. Like at work, people that call the office and then meet me always say they thought I was white. I'm definately good at playing dumb; but I'm also a pretty educated gal and can strike up a convo with anyone about pretty much anything.

    i agree 100%

while i've made the majority of my money off of men are who are thankful i can carry a conversation/have a college background/used to teach....

those are things i don't mention to "other" customers. i USED to and i promise you i lost money because of it. i could literally see their interest fading if they tried to "teach me" something and i already knew/knew more. i think this happens for two main reasons...

#1. some men unfortunately equate lack of intelligence with fun (and/or easiness).
#2. some men are insecure and need to feel smarter/better than the woman they're talking to.

people always ask "do you lose money to girls with bigger tits/who are blonde/etc?" and honestly, the girls i have lost the most money to are the super ditzy/dumb ones.

so, instead of losing more money, i now adjust my responses/convo topics to fit the customer, like ginger said. it's not even that i "dumb-myself-down" but moreso that i omit certain things or don't respond with information. also, i don't "giggle" (because i can't.. like really..i don't know how) but i DO sound more surprised/excited. like "oh my gosh, really???"

uhhg. i wish it didn't work.

    That's exactly right.

But when I get the feeling I need to "tone it down a notch" i.e. not reveal being smart or speaking properly, instead I just get more quiet, even if HE'S not speaking much. A lot of "Oh, really??'s" or "omg!!! look at her on stage! *giggle* hehehe I love that!!!*

I have to consciously do it tho, stop speaking so much, but imo it provides the same effect as being dumb as a box o rocks.

There are some customers that I've had intellectual conversations with that spend well. But every once in awhile, I act really ditzy and it sells too. They spend when the stereotypical fantasy of a stripper is in front of them..

I found this worked well for me too. I worked at a club after quitting a place where I had to be smart and in charge all night long. (I was a manager of 40 direct reports). It was actually a bit refreshing for a little while to have people just assume I was an idiot and not expect anything from me.

Maybe it's not the stupidity, but the positive fun vibe you give off when you are acting a certain way.

I get the same response from stock brokers and money managers when I talk market lingo in a high pitched "dumb blonde" voice with wide eyes.

I don't think feigning stupidity will make you bank... rarely maybe?

For me, it's the subject matter of the conversation that I will change for particular customers. Last night I took part in a completely inane conversation about all of the words for "pussy" that I could come up with. They loved it. Did I act stupid? No. Was it a stupid conversation? Yes.

actually I hope lolarose posts on this. She used to do this all the time at my club and did it so well. For the girls that are genuinely stupid.... I fear there is no hope. If you're smart and don't mind coming off as an imbecil... well... it might actually be fun. I just can't bring myself to do it, unless it's a complete parody and the guy knows it, gets it, and laughs at me.

no, i can't bear to do it. really, i can't. i haven't even tried to act stupid to see if it made me more money or not.

i balance it out by asking questions that i really don't know the answers to but the guy does (something about his career or hobby). in that way he feels intelligent and i keep my sanity (and perhaps learn a fact or two that i didn't know before, say about monster trucks).

I spent a 2 week gig being stupid. It was soooo fun...I was with a friend, and we both giggled so hard at my stupid comments and vacant eyes. It was a blast, and I made killer $$. I'm too self-concious to do it at home (lots of people know me, it would be really obvious), but thank you for the reminder...it is totally my plan to use this again soon.

fuckin a. maybe it's playing stupid, but then again maybe it's just being myself only with the silly/horny/excited/pretend-drunk turned up a notch. i know i'm doing it right when they say "not very bright, are you?" and guffaw with their buddies. thats when i just giggle and get my money.

though some dudes really do love a smart stripper -- like the guy from serbia who, when i found out where he was from, asked "do you know where that is?" in that condescending european way (europeans do that to me a LOT, especially from eastern area) but unlike most people my age i'm up on my geo-politics and can easily carry a conversation about the recent history of the balkans. that was an interesting conversation. but there's no money in that, he didn't get a dance from me and he didnt tip me for my razor sharp intellect. i even asked! he seemed so surprised that i would ask for a tip but i said i've gotten a lot of tips just for conversation. (one dude wanted a dance but we ended up just talking about website design and our portfolios until close and i suggested he could still give me $20....which he did....hahaha)

then its time to move on, go twirl my hair and say "hee hee! woo theres a lot of hot girls here tonight! mmmm i love girls. girls are HOT....mm, i could eat her with a spoon. no i dont have a boyfriend ..... yes i love girls, i think i might be a lesbian.... lets go get naked now" to somebody and get dances.
"I'm teaching fools some basic rules. / I believe in the Golden Rule. The man with the gold rules. / I made a little money.
And like the Bible says, I was enjoying the fruits of my labor. This is my comeback. This is me doing what I love to do." -- Mr. T

"In the street I am my divine self. In the club I am a stripper, portraying a fantasy.
That's not to say anybody can do or say anything to me but it's acting. Playing a role. That simple." -- Pure

Like, I totally think she's fure sure right! But seriously, this makes a lot of sense. I've played the ditzy stripper role, and yes I banked..but it was exhausting. Probably because I had so much energy behind it..big smiles, batty eyes, extra hair flips..I most definitely had a positive vibe.

Everyone has their gimmick and for some its appearing ditzy. One girl I used to work with truely was the biggest ditz I've ever met. She was average pretty but some of the stupid things that came out of her mouth were the funniest shit I've ever heard. I've posted a few in the Overheard in the Dressing Room thread. I think a lot of guys liked her for how entertaining she was. She was usually able to laugh at herself too so I'm sure that helped. She was very Jessica Simpson.

I tried acting a little more ditz on occasions but I think it was pretty obvious what I was doing. I think trying to be a little more friendly and bouncy is appropriate but I can't pull off the dumb, ditz role. I look young so I bet it would help, I just feel awkward and want to slap myself -- besides there are plenty already.

i play dumb, but its uaually when ive had too much gurana and chartruss hah. i get silly, act immature, and bank. you dont have to be dumb to be silly.

like the other night i had a guy from new caladonia, i asked silly questions like "do you live on the beach under a palm tree?" heh it was stupid, but he loved it.

a girl at my club husstled with me once, and she didnt say a word, we told the guys she didnt speak english, they didnt seem to care.
