Default Stripper Pole Kit @ Spencers??

Anyhow, I am trying to find a good at-home stripper pole. I am just starting out dancing, after a couple year break. I wanna practice the pole dancing at home, plus it will give me a work-out too! Spencers has one for 69.99 that I can order online. Is this a decent one? I have a larger xtra room that I have junk in, I want to clear it out and put the pole in there to practice. Does anyone else do this or have any other sturdy poles for home use??

    Thanks!!

NO! Do not buy a pole from spencers. All you can do on that pole is basically walk around it looking pretty. It will not hold your weight for spins or anything like that.

Platinum Stages, X-pole, Lil mynx poles are what you should be looking at. Theyre a little pricy though. Around $300.

Try doing a search. There's been a million posts on Spencer's Peek a Boo pole.

If its the peek-a-boo don't do it! My ex's roomate has some serious stake in the company so we had one in his house. After a long night out of drinking, I got the great idea to do that upside down spinny split thing. Got upside down and spinning, then next thing I know im waking up on the couch. Apparently the pole fell, and I went flying into the glass top coffee table held up by an engine block. Knocked my ass clean out. Tested the pole again in the morning when I sobered up, and jutt as unstable.

Thanks for the advice! And sorry if this was a repeat, I'm terrible at searching and actually finding the topic i'm looking for.

I really didn't wanna spend $300 on a stinkin pole. haha! But sounds like the $70 one won't do me any good anyways. I'm screwed! The club I used to work at let us come in and practice but I'd rather just have one here at home. Blah! I guess I'll keep looking online.

    Thanks again!

    Peek-A-Boo poles are dangerous.

Think about it... why would every other pole out there be $300 - $600 but this one like $70?

It doesn't support weight, it doesn't hold up to anything. You can see videos on youtube of the thing crashing down and hurting people.

    Not safe.

    I recommend Platinum Stages poles.

You guys are awesome! I'm gonna check this out! haha! I don't wanna be falling on my ass (although better in my own house then on a stage tho)! Will I need a stage too or can I just get the pole? I live in an apartment building currently so hopefully it won't ruin the ceiling or floor. Ok, I'm off to check for Lil Mynx & Platinum Stages on the internet.

    Thanks guys!

They have a new peek a boo pole call the Carmen Electra Professional pole. It's 120 dollars. It's differant then the other crappy one the company started with. I wanted to see if it, plus i am always in for a bargin.

Got it, put in up, but still was weary so i put two heavy duty screws in the top (easy two holes to spackel in later). It works well. I'm only about 105 pounds but i do some heavy duty pole moves that trash around the platinum stages, but no problem on this thing so far. Stable.

If you have the money, go for the platinum stages removable poles, they are great, aroung 300. But if that is just too steap right now, the 120 dollar spencers pole does work fine. Make certain you screw it into the ceiling though!

I have a "my sexy little pole" in my room, and i've beaten the hell out of that thing and it's very secure. Only prob is it has a screw you fix into your ceiling, and it was a bitch to get in!
Cost me £40 on ebay (about $80).
It "clunks" a lot tho but if you can put up with that and want to save some money it's a great pole.

Platinum Stages has a tension mount pole. No screws or anything needed. I do a lot of stunting on the pole and heavy pole work with no problems. Alena Downs ( ) uses Platinum Stages as well. I love these poles, they're easy to put up and take down and are completely safe.

Just thinking about this pole makes me LMAO, my best friend and I had one at our apartment. We had a little get together after hitting the clubs one night and I tried to stand up on the couch grab the pole and swing around...lol...horrible idea. I hit the pole and flew across the room, pole in hand like I was pole vaulting. Luckily one of my boys caught me...lol.

I wondered about this new Peek-A-Boo pole because of Carmen Electra endorsing it. Let us know how it is long term!
I already have an X-pole which I love, Im just curious.

Carmen Electra endorses everything. It's like she never even tries the things she advertises.

Ok, I spent some time and looked for some off of Ebay. I found all of the above. I did fine one company, California Poles, who sells Lil Mynx for like 200 some. I might just go ahead and get one of those since it looks to be the best. That spencers one worries me a bit. I just picture this flimsy little pole that gonna bust right outta the ground. Kinda like Reese said. LMAO!!! I did find "my sexy little pole" too on there and it was pretty affordable but I just didn't know. Maybe I will just get that one instead. Thanks Blue for the info on the Carmen Electra Pole, I'm gonna look for that one now. Oh, and it seemed like the Platinum Stages one were quite costly (too much for me right now).

    Thanks to everyone for posting!

Ok, i've done so much looking on ebay and now I'm burnt out. I wanna just order one and be done with this! LOL! Anyways, I'm between "My sexy little pole" for about $150 total or Lil Mynx but that one will cost be about 250ish total. I really only wanted to spend up to 200 so I guess I'm gonna go with the "MLSP". And I read Pink's comment above and it sounded pretty durable. I wanna do all the pole tricks on it including upside down so I'm just nervous that it's gonna withstand all that. Anyhow, if anyone has any last min advice between the two let me know. I'm ordering one tonight before I go to bed because I'm so excited to get one!

    Thanks everyone!!

OK. So the basic Peekaboo is nothing more than a shower curtain rail.
They just launched a new "Electra Pole" - I've heard that , yes, it is sturdy, but as soon as you swing round counter-clockwise, it un-screws!!!!! not good!
It also doesn't extend as far as the more sturdy removables.

If you want something cheap, but is still safe, get a permanent pole installed. It would probably be less than $100. (but, no, it won't be removable/portable)

If you want something removable, then go for the Xpole or Platinum Stage.

I just found an ebay store that sells all types of poles. She has one for 149.99 and says it is very sturdy and handles all pole tricks. It says heavy duty solid brass with floor and ceiling mounts....does this sound like a good one? It is in my price range too If anyone has an idea about this one, please let me know. Feel free to PM me also.

    Thanks!

The fixed brass pole sounds like a good deal. Sturdy by default because it attaches to floor and ceiling, and better grip because it's brass
    I say go for it!
