English people, please read, chocolate question

What are some popular english chocolates? I keep thinking of the Cadbury Dairy Milk, but there has to be many others. Can I get a few ideas, as I may not be able to find certain types here.

I want to get the boy some tasty homeland chocolates for the big day of crap, Valentine's.

    thnx!

    How about Aero bars?

I also just had one called Yorkie, the package said "NOT FOR GIRLS!"

Not that either one are upscale or anything...

Well for nice chocs we always go to Thornton's and get a box of belgian chocs, thats a very popular thing to do here. But if you want english english chocs there is Cadbury's dairy box or galaxy, ferrero rocher, black magic, after eights. They are rather cheap though.
Supermarkets usually have premium boxes of chocs, like Marks and Spencer,Sainsburys, tesco,Asda etc.

Memo to Kat: Rowntree After Eight chocolate mints are widely available. Give him a sampler of different brands and see what he likes best. Then let him pack some fudge.

Ok I have a serious chocolate addiction but I don't have many vices so it's all good. Anyway here goes.

    Cadburys Milk Chocolate Buttons
    Cadbuys wholenut
    Cadburys Flake
    Cadbury Flake Praline
    Cadbury Crunchie
    Cadburys Roses
    Cadburys Picnic
    Cadburys eclairs
    Cadbury's Dairy Milk
    Cadbury Caramel
    Cadburys Fruit & Nut chocolate
    Cadbury Curly Wurly
    Cadburys Twirl
    Cadburys timeout
    Cadburys fudge
    Cadbury Double Decker
    Nestle Toffee Crisp
    Smarties Snack Pack
    Nestle Aero
    Kitkat
    Bounty
    Mars bar
    Galaxy creamy milk bar
    Galaxy Minstrels
    revels
    prilines bar
    Yorkie bar
    Nestle Lion bar
    After 8
    Toblerone chocolate
    Chocolate Orange Siesta
    Nestle toffee crisp
    Quality streets

Those are my fav British chocs! Btw Belgian chocs are oh so scrumptious I love Thornton's anything.

If I had to choose though a box of Cadburys dairy, Cadbury's Roses, Quality streets, After 8's or ferrero rocher... Those are soo classic and ya can't get anymore British than that

Oh but if you can find the cadburys varity pack that would be hot! I can just imagine the naughty things one could do with an array of bite sized Cadburys chocs

Argh! Put myself on a diet today and I should have known to avoid this thread. Now all I want is chocolate!

Not yet on that one. Thanks everyone for the suggestions, keep them coming if you would like.

Keep in mind, I am in the US and can't get to england only specialty shops. Whole Foods should have a lot of these though I imagine.

Do you have a World Market nearby? They seriously have almost every single item Seraya mentioned.

I love the Kinder bueno bars I had over there so much that I order them regularly online
They are a hazelnut cream surrounded by chocolate covered wafers.

    Everything Seraya said!!!

My faves are Flakes and the new Flake Praline, Crunchie, Galaxy, Malteasers....

I wonder if you can get 'Celebrations' here. It is a big box full of mini chocolate bars like Galaxy, Bounty etc....

Too late for anything but future reference, but the SF Chron had a blurb in the food section about this place: http://www.fionassweetshoppe.com/about.htm:

The website doesn't look finished, but you should just get him to fly you out for a weekend and check it out in person.

I've been there! I got my Mr Kipling Mince Pies from that shop.

    Pricy but well worth it.

Cadburry flakes make me drool just thinking about them - they take me back to when I was really young. Also, Terry's chocolate oranges are delicious. They have 'em at walgreens now.
