    Sleep Schedule: Back on Track

As you can see... (note posting time) I am nocturnal. I have been for the past few months.

Let me tell you... it has helped me work!!!

When I first started dancing I was going to bed at 4am, waking up at 11am. Terrible!

Now that I won't be dancing for a while (detoxing a bit) I was wondering how I can re-set my body clock.

Should I just not go to bed (at my usual 5am time)? Should I just stay awake as long as I can till I reach some semi-normal hour to be going to bed like 7:30 pm or something?

    Any advice?

I don't have any brilliant idea but I'd sure as hell like to know as well.

I've been on a 4am-noon sleeping schedule and I think depressing since I've been doing it so long. I tried getting up earlier with an alarm a few days and it couldn't break the cycle. I was tired in the morning but wide awake at 4am again.

there's really no easy way to do it, and it concerns me because I just read some article about how affecting your circadian rhythm negatively impacts your health.

I'm on a 4-12 schedule right now, as well, it sucks. The only thing that seems to work is setting my alarm clock an hour early.. today I managed to wake up at 11:30. The clock will go off at 11, but i wont get up until 11:30. For tomorrow morning, i'm setting it at 10:30, and hopefully getting out of bed at 11. The next day I'm going to try 10, wake up at 10:30, until I can get up at 9AM every day naturally. I work 5-12, so I can go to bed by 1, get eight hours and wake up at 9 just fine. It'sj ust so hard to get there because i've been working late shifts. aghghg

my sleeping schedule is depressing. I HATE waking up at noon, i feel so unproductive and lazy, not to mention that in oregon it starts getting dark around 4 freaking o clock. 4 hours of sunlight?? AGHGH

    Hardly... lol.

I'm gonna go for it. Maybe I can knock myself back into the swing of things.

I figure... I can go to bed around 8pm tonight give or take. I'll sleep till 9 or 10 am and start primping for V-Day festivities.

Hopefully, the nice doe of fine Champagne that evening will sooth me to sleep at a reasonable hour (after some sexin' of course)!

Gah, I'm going through the same thing right now! I hate it! I spent the last month going to bed at 7:30am and waking up at 2:30pm. Now, I'm not working and trying to adjust my sleep pattern has been very, very hard.

I usually adjust in a couple days or something but this time it's been very extreme. Especially, because people I deal with everyday don't know that I have kept unusual hours for the past month, not to mention that now I'm home my time zone changed too (an hour later)!!

I usually take Melatonin and a glass of wine and have managed to get to sleep by 3:30am and up at 11:00am.

Today, I'm up early because I have to make it to the Nordstrom Rack for a huge designer jean sale and will stay up all day so hopefully this helps.

Anyways, I feel your pain and am suffering along with you. I wan to be part of the land of the living again

    Good Luck everyone!

Yes! I swear by this stuff! I couldn't live without it!

It comes in 3 mg and 5 mg doses. I like the 3 mg because I can take less or more depending on how I feel. It can give you weird dreams but that's part of the fun and you don't wake up groggy at all because it's just an herb.

Melatonin REALLY helps me. Definitely try it out.
