    Default all or nothing??

so am in a dilemma. at the mo, i am working 2 nights a week stripping on top of my normal 9-5 job which im starting to hate coz my boss is a ...well, he's not a nice person. was thinking about working full time at the club, but im just a bit worried as i have loads of debts and, as a newbie to it all, i reckon im having a stroke of beginners luck as they say.

    any thoughts??

My first reaction would be to tell you not to quit a job that guarantees you pay right now. No matter how big of an ass your boss may be, I can guarantee you some SC managers will make him look like an angel. There are some real douches in this business and the more you work, the more you will have a chance to see.
My point is really, don't do it. You never know how it's going to be and you are NOT guaranteed pay. I wish I could get a normal job right now but I have some issues that are keeping me from being able to. I would take minimun wage over stripping right now. I hate to be negative, but I wouldn't want you to quit your normal job then bottom out a few weeks later. This business is really iffy right now. Yes, there are some girls who will always do good no matter what the circumstances are, but most of us aren't in that position. It's funny how you can walk into work and bang out $800 dollars one night with no effort, then walk in and hustle your ass off every day for a week or two later and make nothing.
Stay safe and secure. I would give anything to have the means to get to a 9-5 right now. If you are doing so well the two nights you are working, I can't stress to enough to put that money away!!! If it wasn't for having a savings that has floated me over these past few months, I probaly would have been evicted by now. Sucks that I had to spend it all, but at least I was able to take care of my bills and rent.
Not to mention, if for some reason you do end up quitting your job, you will have some money to bounce back on if your "newbie luck" runs out.
    Good luck

I know a girl that was in the same position as you not too long ago; she quit her dayjob and has lived to regret it. And I feel partially responsible for her dire straits, so I'ma make sure you hear me.

In a nutshell, I brought my roomie into dancing, and then she tipped off this girl like immediately thereafter, goin on about how we were making tons of cash so she should try it too. My roomie apparently never considered that it might be a diff game for a thick black girl than it was for we skinny crackers, and I didn't trust this chick enough to get directly involved. Anyway, she started off well enough, so she quit her dayjob. A dayjob that provided health insurance BTW. She also lost her fiancee over her dancing, although to be fair he was a douche and she's prolly better off without him- still, it made her a single mother. And now, a scant few months later, she's given up on dancing, looking for another dayjob, way worse off than she was to begin with.

So, PLEASE don't quit your dayjob! It's GREAT that you've started dancing and are doing well, and hopefully that will continue, but it's a huge risk for you to bet on that prematurely. And hey, it's not an either/or situation- you don't have to dance OR work a dayjob- there's a lot of good reasons to do both and many dancers do. I do, because my dayjob provides me with insurance, travel benefits, and an alibi. I'd suggest, instead of looking to quit your dayjob, you should be looking for other dayjobs that will better complement your dancing.

With the way the economy is now, and the way the dancing market is, I'd keep the dayjob and dance part time. If you were living off your dayjob income before, you can keep doing that and save ALL your dancing money. That money sure can come in handy later on.

It depends where you are. In most cities I'd say keep the dayjob cause the stripping money's going all wonky, especially for new girls.

    keep the day job!
its a great feeling having a set income you can rely on to pay your bills and taxes and have that security knowing you have enough to get by and then have your dancing income on top to save up for stuff thats important to you.
you might be making a lot now, but things change like the wind in stripping. you could go a week without making any money and because you made so much the week before, you didnt save it cos you thought youd always make that much and now youre fucked cos you got nothin.
    ive been there.
have a day job for the security so that during quite times dancing you have a back up. also, you have to account for burn out. those nights you dont work so hard, the nights youre not into it, etc, those nights hurt your money and youll end up spreading your money thin.

If you DO quit your day job, make sure that you leave on good terms so you can come back if you need to. I just quit my day job because I was only making about $500 a week, and I can make that (or more) in a night dancing and it seemed a little backwards to me. But I told them I was leaving because of some personal family issues, and they told me that they would love to have me back should circumstances change. Same with my last bartending job. There are any number of jobs I could go back to in an instant if I needed or wanted to.

Also make sure that you will be able to still stay motivated and SAVE!! A lot of girls stop saving because they money keeps rolling in. Then they might hit a dead point and be on a mad scramble for cash to pay their bills. Save yo frickin money! Live like you are still only working at your day job.

I'm not saying you should quit your day job, but if you decide to, be smart about it.
