Default Plastic surgery in South America

I got a CR with a couple from Columbia. Holy shit her tits were smokin, and they were only 2 g's!!! Silicone too.

Has anyone ever traveled south of the border for any type of procedure? My man wants his teeth done and I heard in some city in Mexico it is like 50% cheaper for cosmetic dental work. (And good work too. I wish I saved the story I found on it).

just do your research on each doctor, as there are some really good PS's down there. South America is considered better than Mexico from everything I've read, especially Brazil and Argentina.

Cosmetic dental work would require a few trips though. And what is the policy on breakage? I have 10 veneers, and one has broken. My dentist replaced it free as per his agreement. And maybe they would in Mexico too, but it would take a flight and a couple of days. Might not be worth it.

Good point. I guess if that were to happen, he would go to an american dr-- That'd be sweet if you could order veneers from mexico and whichever one broke, ask a US dr to use yours to replace it. I severely doubt they would allow that.... but it would be cool.

I'd personally be sketched out to have surgery in Mexico... but then again I DID just watch a tv show on botched plastic surgery in mexico. I'm sure it happens just as much in the US, but still.... And I don't speak Spanish.

an old friend of mine had her nose done in Argentina. I never would have even guessed, I only knew because she drunkenly confessed to me one night. $500, local anesthesia. This was back in 1990 though.

I'm sure if you find the right doc in SA you would be straight. I just heard that this town in Mexico (Its not huge for anything but dental work so the name slips my mind) is great for dental work. As far as anything goes with my body... I'm staying with a US doc. I already got a good one, but my man needs dental work and it is so damn expensive!!

I'm sticking with US doctors, they can fuck shit up too, but research and referrals are a powerful thing!

I've heard too many horror stories about surgery in other countries.

Remember, sometimes it's cheap for a reason and really, do you want to be playing with your health like that?

I have always been interested in going abroad for more affordable surgery. If anyone has any concrete information, that would be great.

I would go south of the border if I could speak better Spanish. I do worry about legal recourse in case anything goes awry.

Brazil and Argentina are the 'hot spots' in South America when it comes to plastic surgery. People are obsessed with looks down there. In Buenos Aires (Argentina) there's like one certified surgeon per block. Great surgeons, very professional, and very cheap if you go with dollars.

I'm about two weeks away from getting a boob job in Bangkok, Thailand. I am also a Brazilian national and considered getting it done there. I'm just closer to Asia at this point and have a lot of good reffferals for this clinic, so I'll stick with it. I would definently look into getting cosmetic work done in Brazil. Cities like Salvador and Sao Paulo have incredible surgeons and are some of the best in the world for plastic surgery. A lot of people are turned on right now by "cosmetic tourism" and there's tons of info online about debunking the myths around travel and other countries' policies to keep plastic surgeons accountable. I was particularly interested in package deals that clinics have set up to provide everything from transportation to hotels before and after the surgery. Check it out, for sure. Personally, I'm not so sure about Mexico. I have read more negative stuff than positive. Good luck!

I have been seriously looking into getting a brazilian butt lift and I already want to go to Brazil anyway.....I want a phatty so bad. I was reading up on the tours that they do now and how they include airfare, hotel, and the procedure all together. I have a friend from Columbia and she had her BA and liposuction done in her home country and she swears by it.

Can anyone recomend some good sites? I found cosmeticvacations.com and it seems reputable, but other opinions never hurt!

Thumbs up Plastic surgery in South America Bolivia with MakeoverTravel

    Hi Girls,
South America is the best place in the world if you are looking for an affordable plastic surgery with skilled surgeons.
On December 2011 I went to south American through MakeoverTravel (a very famous medical tourism company specialized in plastic surgery trips for American patients looking for an affordable plastic surgery in South America with the best surgeons.. a DREAM because they organize everything for you / Surgery / hotel / transportation / bilingual assistant / blood test / clinic or hospital stay etc..!! You just have to take your flight ticket and you pay your surgery after your first consultation with the plastic surgeon)

I had a breast augmentation (with silicone implants 400cc which is a full D-cup) + liposuction of abdomen and abdominal flanks + Brazilian butt lift (fat injection of my own fat into my butts to give them a better shape and more volume). I paid $5,200 for my all package!! with 10 days in a 4stars hotel..
I am very happy with my results, I healed pretty quick. With the help of medications, I did not feel pain at all. The only thing I do remember is feeling uncomfortable and heavy in the morning, but as soon as I got up and walked around a bit the heaviness would go away. The incisions were made on the creese of the breast, implants were placed under the muscle. I can hardly see the scars already, with the help of silicone strips. The healing process went really quick. I took 10 days off from work to stay in Bolivia and it was more than enough time.I most certainly recommend silicone implants, it is very common these days and safe. I can fit in my clothes better, I feel great,I LOVE MY RESULTATS and I feel very happy. I highly recommend MakeoverTravel, it was one of the best trip and experience of my life.

I wish I could speak Spanish.... I'd do it if I were comfortable communicating exactly what I want/need/expect. I worry too much about something being lost in translation.

Now if I had family in the country that would be an epic win. Otherwise if I die on the operating table, I'm sure I will just "vanish" and no one will really come looking for me, the police there won't bother searching for someone who was in the country only briefly.

I guess for dental work you don't really need to worry about that scary stuff. However for more invasive procedures I'd be concerned about traveling shortly after surgery.

I think about this all the time. I would like to have a large breast augmentation (800-ish), a rhinoplasty, a dental cap and LASIK over the next year. It's not really a matter of affording it in Canada but being able to do it all at all with less down time! Here I'm seeing one surgeon for each procedure - wouldn't it be awesome to just go away, do it all, and come back?

I'll probably wuss out but I've taken photos for both PSjourney.com and cosmeticvacations.com for their evaluations. There's no harm in sharing the process, even though I think I'll end up booking each procedure separately in my area.

It seems like a good deal, but traveling so far away to someone where you know no one has its risks. Several of the latin girls at my job had their work done in Mexico/South America and it looks awesome. However, they all have family/friend in these places and an outside contact of some sort. I saw good things, but I also read negative things.

This came off a plastic surgery forum:http://messageboards.makemeheal.com/...l-t132042.html

I'd always recommend either an American doctor or a good European one.Doctors in places like South America are cheaper, but there's a reason for that. If things go wrong, they wont help you and there's a higher risk of things going wrong in places which do procedures without taking proper safety checks.

I'm not saying that every dcotr in South America is like this, but just make sure you do your research properly before committing to anyone

Lizzy I am sorry but everyone knows that plastic surgeons in south america are one of the best surgeons in the world. Brazil, Bolivia Colombia are renowned to be the best places to have a surgery done outside the US. Many many stars, singers artists... travel to south America for a plastic surgery and sure it’s not to save money (even if it's very affordable when you compare with the cost in the US).
Of course it is not recommended to go directly with a plastic surgeon because you don’t know him,,, to avoid any risk and to have a safe surgery in a safe hospital I only recommend you to travel through a reputable medical tourism operator,, it’s what I did,, I went with MakeoverTravel,, in my opinion one of the best medical tourism operator in South America and I had a GREATTTT experience with this company. The advantage you have when you go through a medical operator is that all the doctors they are working with have been carefully selected and verified - all the plastic surgeons are board-certified and members of the Brazilian, Bolivian and Ibero latin American Society of Plastic Surgery – the national equivalent of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Some of them are also members of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons,, this guarantees a high level of quality and safety for the patient. And other advantage is if you don’t speak Spanish,, this is not a problem since your personal assistant is bilingual English / Spanish and she will accompany you everywhere so you will never have any problem of communication. I went to Bolivia for my surgery because it's the place where I found the best deal but there are other clinics in Brazil or Colombia that are good to have a surgery. I don't recommend other countries in Latin America. For me South America is the best place (mexico is not South america), if you want to check cost and services that a medical operator can provide you I recommend you to visit 3 websites
    Makeovertravel. com
    Sensualbodydream. com
    Cosmeticharmony. com
these are the companies I contacted and compared before taking the decision to go abroad for my surgery.
    Good luck

I have seen amazing work from Venezuela and Colombia. I was all set to get my boobs redone in Dominican Republic and I went through a company based in the US. It turned out to be a nightmare and I decided not to get the surgery done. As per my confidentiality agreement I had to sign in order to get back my money I cannot disclose more than that online. Anyone who wants to know more feel free to PM me. I am just saying please please please do your research. Go to reputable websites like makemeheal.com and have references. Remember you are in a foreign country where many times you cannot speak the language. From personal experience I know what I am speaking about. I am not discouraging anyone because I have seen phenomenal work from South American countries but please have plans in place. I did everything by the book and I still got screwed over. I am not saying the Doctors in those countries are bad that was never my intention I am saying companies are profiting from the Doctors because the as being "the bridge"between non native speaking patients and the doctor. So if you are going to South America do your own surgery online, check the doctor is a a regulated and current member of the country's board of cosmetic or maxofacial surgeons and liaise with them on your own. Many medical tourism companies are sketchy as hell and try to push you into making appointments when you have never even met the doctor. Do your own research, check the doctors website, email the office.

I have a friend who lives in DR and I thought about going down to check it out. She has hers done, and I know of others who went down there to get work done. I will say that I have seen absolutely gorgeous/near perfect bodies from women in Colombia and Venezuela, especially Colombia. Don't know anyone out there though. I am still on the fence about traveling. I don't believe the USA is the absolute best place and everywhere else is filthy and dangerous, but it would be nice to be in an English speaking country.

I strongly suggest opting for Thailand instead. They do truly amazing boob jobs, at around the same price you mentioned in your OP.

Their dental work is very cheap too.
