Default 'so you think you can dance' australia

anyone else watching this show? and getting entirely pissed off by it?

every fucking contestant they speak to is all, "my mum died" or "i was abandoned" or "i had bulimia" or "i had to go to hospital because i was sick when i was a baby" or "i grew up in a rough neighbourhood and was very poor" and then they play sad music and go for the sympathy card EVERY FUCKING TIME.

it's utterly ridiculous. i enjoy the dancing, but the constant pity parties are absolutely unbearable.

way to ruin another awesome show, australia! we suck at tv.

Natalie Bassingthwaighte ruins it for me. I can't stand her.

This old guy at a club I used to work at used to pay girls $50 to dance to Voodoo Child.. over and over... like 3 or 4 times a night 5 days a week for about 6 months. Everytime I hear it now it sets of some little seizure in my brain that makes me want to hurt things.

    AMEN.

This is the same with america's next top model and also australia's next top model - charity cases.

There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.

Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.

yeah i totally agree. let's all just have a cry

Hamish and Andy were talking about this on the radio the other day how the judges would be like 'um yeah not convinced with the performance' and then the dancer would be like 'but i had a hard childhood and my family are poor' or some other pity story and the judges would all of a sudden change their mind. Sure it's sad, but when EVERY dancer that they have interviewed has a pity story it kind of gets old.

Maybe they should change the program to "So you think you had a tougher life than me?"

Lol the first episode of this has inspired me to invent a new thing. A kind of gun that can be shot at the television and splatter an image of a bullet hole on the person on the screen. This was mainly inspired by Natalie whatshername and the endless parade of teary eyes on the show, its so scripted it makes me ill.

i also think the show should involve guns. what's with them constantly saying over and over and over, "you will LITERALLY be dancing for your life!"

uh, no. if they were LITERALLY dancing for their lives, there'd be someone standing at the side of the stage with a shotgun ready to put a bullet through their fucking throat if they didn't perform at their best. as far as i know, the booted contestants do not get executed.

but if they did, it'd certainly bring a new level of competition to the show.

I hate when people use literally incorrectly.
'I am literally going to die if I fail my exam.'
    Umm, no actually you're not.

    Arghhhhhh!

    Rant over.
