Default Cops & tickets AZ clubs

in the last 5 days the cops have been coming to several clubs in phx ,undercover and busted alot of girls givin tickets for violation of contact rules.
this includes any contact other than face and sides/legs.
sittin on lap for more than 3 secs, huggin tippin custy from stage or takin dollars by pullin g string on stage ,all charges of prostitution.
    wtf?
are we now criminals or sex offenders by acceptin a tip on stage !??
    seems like.
the ticket thing stays in yr record for life and will show up everytime u ll apply for a normal job.u have to show up in court.
3 tickets in 1 year and they revoke yr dancin licence.
someone said since Amazon-ex Sinn- has been shut down few days ago for prostitution the cops are looking for some of those dancers in all the clubs around town.
apparently they were doing extras so the club got in trouble.
not sure how accurate this information is but is the rumor circulatin right now.
no customers will keep buying dances if they turn into air dances.
some of the dancers i know have been given a ticket and i know they are not heavy contact dancers, just light contact.
they are makin it very difficult for all az biz...
the cops now come alone and they either buy one dance then ask u for yr name and take a pic of you in the back or they just watch u givin dances or on stage then notify the manager that u ve been served and u dont even know until the manager calls you in the back.

is this going to end soon? i thought it would end after super bowl but it isnt...

I thought it may have died down a bit with SB being over as well....(sigh)...

I know that in New Mexico, SID (not sure what it stands for anymore) would target most of the clubs in one particular week...then lay low a bit, then suprise you again. It was like that when I was there last year, not sure how it is now. Tulsa, OK was strict as hell, only danced there a few weeks, but Tulsa PD would come in the club and watch dances ~ uniformed and all, not good for business.

yeah.... i m so scared now even tho im not a close contact dancer but im going to stick with air dances... i dont want to get a ticket!!no way

uniformed cops is better i think at least u can watch out for them..
undercovers... they may look like a construction worker or business men and u ll never be able to spot them...
although my dj says u can spot them by their haircut..
    not sure about that!

Scottsdale clubs were not bothered by the cops AT ALL while I was there for Superbowl. IDK what the earning potential is there now that Superbowl is over, but if you're really worried about getting a ticket, it's probably worth a shot.

As much as I hate the fact that a girl can get a ticket for something so petty.. in a way I'm glad. I was getting so sick of how some of the girls at my club danced. When one guy gets a dance from a girl who puts her boobs in his face, grinds on his crotch, and presses his face IN her ass- then guys expect other girls to do that. I hope those kind of girls get tickets! It's unfortunate that some "light contact" girls get tickets. But to say that customers won't buy dances if they're air dances.. well if EVERYONE gave air dances- then YES they would buy them. They wouldn't have the choice.
So in a way- I'm kind of happy. It's time to clean up Phoenix. I've started seeing WAY too much nasty stuff happen. It's looking like Rhode Island out here (I worked in RI before here).

Just follow the rules and hopefully we'll all be safe from tickets.

    Hoorah!!!!!

This is THE BEST thing that could happen. It NEEDED to happen.

Honestly, the cops are sooo transparent. I always pass their little "test." If you are drunk and letting a customer grab your boob w/o correcting their bad behavior, YOU DESERVE to get a ticket.

I give the lamest $10 dances at CCP (ask anyone on the Blue Board or SCL) and haven't had a problem selling them. Guys will buy what's available.

What exactly does the ordinance cover? I've heard that you could get ticketed even for air dances if they are not done to the letter of the law.

Just curious, I dance in NM and have never heard of this. Was it at one particular club?

I would love for dancing to be cleaner that it is now, but I wish the clubs would enforce the rules. Busting extras, yes, but how awful to get a ticket for sitting on a lap more than 3 seconds or some of the other things the OP mentioned that you didn't even know were a crime.

The ONLY way this stuff will EVER really get cleaned up is when the CLUBOWNERS are once again held responsible for what goes on in THEIR clubs. Consider the money clubowners have spent to get local politicians to shift the liability away from them and onto the dancers, this will never happen.

Otherwise it's gonna remain the same or get worse. There's near constant LE action in Houston and we know how that has cleaned up the clubs in that city Judging by history, I say it's just gonna get worse, and girls who are otherwise clean dancers but happen to get caught for some bullshit minor infraction will continue to pay the price. If you girls in Phx (or any other place for that matter) can get some kind of action taken to change things back so clubowners are held legally liable for what goes on in their clubs, more power to ya.

It was at TD's and Spearmint Rhino in Albuquerque. Things may have changed, but that was last December when I was there. It's a special division to help enforce laws at bars and clubs I believe.

I heard just now that they are closed but for liquor violations ~ supposedly lots of underage chickies drinking in there. Hiliter's business is rockin' today because some of Amazon's customers headed over there.

As far as tickets and all, I have been 'trying' to follow the guidelines that they gave me when I got my license...that's the last thing I need to deal with right now. I am glad in a way as well ~ a few girls are getting away with way too much shit and it is damn hard to compete with that. I may talk a great game, but that's not gonna work 100% when up against some of the things I have seen.

That was what was wrong with Chicago clubs ~ rarely were rules enforced at some of them (of course, not all!) and it got frustrating. It's refreshing to see people take a stand, however annoying it may be. It may discourage the offenders to clean up a bit...but doubtful.

I have to agree that things won't change until clubs are held accountable. Good point.

The girls who got ticketed @ CCP were giving high contact lap dances. I'm sorry about your unfortunate experience, Likewow. Thank you for sharing your personal experiences. I checked out James Hays. What a loser! I love Avanti's and I never knew about it's sordid past!

I DID actually notice some of the girls cleaning up their dances. I certainly cleaned up mine...but I have to remember to not take tips in my gstring.

    Ummm...a garter?

Thought everyone knew about garters. I don't care how or where I dance...I will always wear a garter.(Just in case, I mean the one elastic around my leg, not a garter belt!) That keeps the custy's hands away from my crotch area, and a drunkass is less likely to try and grab my tbar and yank it down.

Saftey first, and it is a good place to keep my money, keeping the sight line unobstructed by an unattractive wad of money on my hip. Now he's just looking at my hips....

Plus, I always have a nice elastic garter that I can SNAP! when they give the money..nice effect. Guys love it.

I think it looks classier, too. But, YMMV.

Edit: Oh! I forgot to add! The GREAT advantage of a garter, at least here, was that when ALE was trying to bust us for drinking on the job, ALL we had to do to be "off the clock" and be able to drink with a custy (mostly in the VIP room) and avoid being busted ourselves (OR gettting the club in trouble!) was to REMOVE THE GARTER. Then, we were just very scantily-clad ladies drinking with a man in a private room/at a table/whathave you. We also had to tell the dj to take us off rotation.
Dunno if this works in other areas of the country, but it sure did here. Godsend.

Not the 1st time Amazons has been busted for liquor violations.... hence it was known as Cheetah 2, then Amazons, then Sinn, then Amazons again. As someone who worked at Sinn/Amazons, I liked that $ there was (until a few months ago) pretty easy to make, but at the same time there were a lot of very high contact dancers training customers to expect more for less, and a lot of full blown prostitution. Also a lot of excessive drinking amongst the dancers, to the point that drunken outbursts/drama were a regular occurance. Most of the managers just turned the other way in favor of collecting as many (ever increasing) house fees as possible.

I hate to say it, but that place getting shut down isn't such a bad thing.

I think they still are in many small towns where clubowners haven't fought and won for the legal shift. Ie, where the clubs don't make the money to pay the required bribes............er, to pay for the necessary lawsuits, etc. But as far as I know in most decent sized cities the laws have been set so all the legal burden is on the girls.

I completely agree. Personally, it's really nice not waking up hungover and wondering where my money is.

I am glad Sinn got shut down, I danced there once last year, and the bouncer told me they that they will let anything go and you did not even have to be in VIP. I never went back after that. Also you were allowed to drink when working there.

Actually, because of the 'plausible deniability' concept and the 'independent contractor' concept, virtually ALL clubowners are now able to sidestep virtually all charges ... because the DA must prove that the clubowner was actively aware that illegal stuff was going on as well as profiting from it. So as long as obviously excessive stuff is NOT going on in the main club area or onstage, the clubowner can plead 'gee officer I had NO IDEA what those girls were doing in the private dance / VIP area" and get away with it.

This is a different story though when the club and dancers have an 'employer' / 'employee' relationship. At that point, the 'employer' clubowner faces legal responsibility for assuring that his 'employees' are acting within the law.

^But in a lot of the small towns, the clubs still have to enforce the laws or they face getting shut down. Unlike in the cities. Maybe the smalltown guys just haven't yet figured out how to sidestep the law.....ha

Aagh!! This subject makes me crazy. But it does help me to understand why club owners don't clean up their own clubs, which they absolutely could, and once did. I've often wondered why one day they strictly upheld rules and then suddenly....not. I wondered why they didn't worry about getting busted for the increased contact, now I understand they don't have to.

Dancers are between a rock and a hard place. It breaks my heart to see good dancers get busted for ridiculous infractions, and to see stripping ultimately destroyed because whoever makes these laws just can't see how it really works. I danced when club owners were held responsible and they had the power to run a clean club. Leaving it up to dancers creates chaos because half of them don't really know what the official rules/laws are, and the other half live a life where they could care less, once you've already broken a few laws, what's the difference?
