Default what's a good back stretch?

...that REALLY stretches your back? i feel like a lot of the ones i know of dont stretch me as deep or far as i'd like. i always want more!

i do the cat poses from yoga, the one where you lay and twist to the other side, and cobra stretches. i just dont get the stretch i want.

Which bit of your back do you feel needs to be stretched?? I hang off doorways to get at my middle back.
Lower back lay on your back draw your knees up to your chest, slowly extend and lower them to the ground, then do it with one leg at a time.

    That helps me.

I use those big bosu balls. Or maybe back bends? Those have helped me before.

I put my legs over my head... slowly releasing them down to the floor again. Hugging your knees to your chest is a good one too. Also, keeping your feet on the floor and arching your back so your butt is off the ground. It's niiiiice.

All while laying on your back of course.

I have lower back issues big time so I lie on my back, pull my knees into my chest, and roll back and forth like an egg. That feels pretty good. If the side twists don't get deep enough for you, try lying on your back with both legs out flat, then pull your left leg up and over your right leg, leaving the right one extended. Like a side twist with one leg straight. Also, there's a stretch called the pretzel. It's pretty much a full body stretch, but I feel it most in my back. It's extremely hard to describe. This is the link to it: http://www.exrx.net/Stretches/Obliques/Pretzel.html. To take it further, try and press your ear to the floor.

I do back bends...now I can touch the floor near my feet.

That sure as hell stretches my back.

    And pops it.

I do the same ones as you, plus a prayer stretch. You sit on your heels then walk your hands as far forward as they'll go. Good for lower back.

Yoga helps my back stretch..Rodney Yee DVDs are really good. I also have a big stability ball I lie on to stretch my back out.
