This two-party system has started to cause irrational divisiveness.

    Yo quiero parliament!

I heard bits and pieces about that.....I don't know enough about it to really make a decision. In many cases, I would say it's not really a big deal if it were to be true, but it depends on who/what they're a lobbyist for and exactly what their business relationship was prior to the sex vs what it is after. As in, did the sex affect anything that will affect me and the citizens of the US?

I kinda like him, although I'm really not sure who I'm voting for (although it all depends on who is on the ballot when the time finally comes....)

I wonder if it's our revolving two-party system that gives Americans that (deserved) reputation abroad for being black-or-white, my-way-or-the-highway, right-or-wrong jackasses. Maybe we just wind up trained to see everything as an issue with only two answers, so we just don't see the subtlety and complexity in different issues - not just political issues, but everything. It's an interesting thought.

It's total bullshit ! Both McCain & the lobbyist deny any romance and there is NO corroboration.

I'm not buying this story either and I'm not even voting for McCain.

NYT is also reporting it. Ofcourse now just like like FoxNews it is owned by Rupurt Murdock so I'm not surprised to see this kind of crass and probably fake news reporting being done by a once great newspaper. Sad but not surprised.

I stopped caring what the opinion of us abroad is a long time ago... It is almost totally based on two things 1. The fact that we're on top and have been for a long time 2. The stupid American television they see

In every country I've been in when I sit down and spend a little time with someone, they inevitably go "You're not like most Americans" which is such crap... These people either don't have any real experiences of Americans or they only see them when their traveling, and thats not a fair assesment at all...

    McCain is a conservative??? lol

The two party system is crap. Everything should be done blind. We should walk into the voting booth- not seeing any names, just what the candidates voting record is, and what they are campaigning for, then pick one. Then it's certain we are picking someone for what they stand for, not who they are or what scandals lay in their past.
    Try this for starters http://www.electoralcompass.com/

Are you voting for the candidate that stands for your positions/views?

Based on the latest primary delegate counts, the only way that I would be able to do this next november is if the voting machine has a selection for 'none of the above' !

When I lived abroad, I saw other Americans as total fucking jackasses because we are. We have an overwhelming tendency to be self-absorbed arrogant pricks who only see two sides to everything, and if anyone disagrees with us then they are WRONG. I'm not saying all Americans are that way but as a nation we have earned our reputation.

I wonder if the two-party system (as opposed to a more diverse parliamentary system) has anything to do with it.

Then we'll have to agree to disagree, as I think of myself as an average American and have never had a problem with any foreigner who I have spent a little time with...

To answer you question, if I accept you opinion on the two sides issue, I would say that the two-party system comes more from OUR way of thinking... Than vicaversa

    ^Did that come out clear?

non-americans are just as stiffnecked and stupid as americans. any presumption that people in x country think or behave better than americans is just that, presumptuousness.

as far as mccain's little issue, it is conflict of interest in a way bill clinton's dallying with an intern was not.

What a non-issue and a total yawner. There are plenty of other, legitimate reasons to not support McCain.

    Word. ^^^^^^^^

The information supposedly came from an "anonomys tip" or thats what the news just said - mayyybeee that anonomys tip came from old Huckabee's people?

Either way - this only helped McCain - his supporters are all riled up in his defense rather than changing their minds about him.

Have to add I don't blame the guy even though I don't like his politics if he did have an affair - his wife seems like a majjorrrr bitch if I ever saw one.

P.S. Has anyone noticed that McCain looks like a shark mixed with Steve Martin? I like to think about a shark mating with steve martin and producing him when I see his face.
