I got acrylic on top of my nails put on 2 Mondays ago. Is it time to get them filled in? How do you decide? How often do you do it?

I usually get them done every other saturday without fail if I have acrylic nails.

youre supposed to get them done every 2 weeks. but you can tell when theyre looking grown out.. sometimes i let it stretch longer. if they look bad, get them redone. if you can go a bit longer than 2 weeks, wait.
I used to have acrylics and once I went three weeks before getting a fill, instead of the two weeks I was supposed to. When I went in, it turned out that the acrylic had lifted slightly, water got in there, and I had the most atrocious nail fungus known to man. That was the end of me and acrylics!
every 2 weeks i go i have for more then 5 years.
I always did it every two weeks... Unless it starts to look yellowed or grows to fast then I would do it every 9 days or so.
Please don't lick me, it tickles..

i think this thread should be in body biz.
oh, and i dont get my nails done with acrylics, but i get my nails done every week, pedicures every 2-3. wax 2-3 wks
Love it!
I've got solar gels, and I go in about every 2-2 1/2 weeks for a fill. Depends on how fast my nails are growing or if I screwed them up with yard work or whatever.

^Ha! My favorite nursery is on the way home from my salon and I always end up digging around the garden when I've gotten my nails freshly done.
I go every 2 weeks. Like clockwork.
Because there ain't no tits on the radio
every 2-3 weeks. im lazy about it. pedi every month or so...

I used to do it every two and a half weeks. My nails/hair grows slowly so I could afford to wait. Just make sure they don't start to look dingy, and you'll be good.

every 2-3 weeks I get a rebase. I usually end up taking them off in frusteration once a month or so. I hate the things.

Every two weeks. I also get them removed and a new fresh set done about every 6-8 weeks. I have acrylics and have had them for about 10 years now, with about a one year break when my nails were as thin as tissue paper.
I also get a pedicure about once a month. But I get my toe nails painted - french pedicure every two weeks because it usually chips at work.
There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.
Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.
My arcylic nails are super short and just look like real short nails. So I go every week and a half. Toes every two weeks or three.
I used to have the UV gel put over my natural nails to reinforce them and would get my hands done every 3 weeks and my toes filled every 6 weeks. The gels were great because you could paint your nails and were able to put off getting a fill for a few more days and I never had a problem with lifting.
Now, I am just letting my nails be natural and not really doing much to them. I'm only going about once every other month for a professional pedicure, and do regular maintenance at home(pushing back and trimming cuticles, filing, and pumicing)
I get my acrylics done filled every 2 weeks, and ped. every 3-4 weeks. My toenails don't grow fast, and my feet stay in good health with stuff I use at home.

2-3 weeks...7 years and never had a problem with my pink and whites.
Usually about 2 weeks. I am a nail biter, so I have to do them every week and a half or I chomp them off.
But you will be able to tell with the growth... there will be a space between the cuticle and the acrylic. Once that happens, you know its time for a fill.![]()

I like to say it's every two weeks, but if I'm busy or lazy I'll let them go for awhile longer. The way my lady does them, it's hard to tell when they're growing out until it's too late to salvage them, and I need a new set. I mean I can tell, but other people don't notice (I've asked!). Unfortunately, I haven't had them done in about a month! I took them off (painfully!) and now I have yucky fingers! BOO!!
Omg, when I dont have nails on, I have MAN HANDS becuase I bite the shit out of them. To the point that they bleed and are so short.
I cant even function correctly without a set of nails. It physically HURTS.
Theres nothing better than a fullset of fresh nails, right? lol

Oh yeah, I HATE my hands right now! I'm just being paranoid about spending $35 because I was just notified of more debts my parents incurred in my name, and so I added another $200 monthly to my bills that aren't even my fault. Paying is just easier than going to court, but I'll get my nails done eventually, I can't stand not having them.
^^^ Damn! Unexpected expenses are the worst.![]()
Good luck with that. But when you are done, treat yourself to a nice spa day and a new set of nails.Thats the BEST. lol
i get my nails every 3 weeks...sometimes 4. they peel off the acrylic that's been lifted and fill it in so nothing gets trapped under it. when i get designs or french manicures i also tend to tell them to put the color polish 3/4 or 1/2 way down my nail (instead of the usual 1/3 - 1/4). not only do i like the look of it, but it also gives me more time needed in between fill-ins (at least if you don't look too closely at my nails).
i did the gel nails in high school, and i would get them filled every 3 weeks or so. not longer though. eventually, it got kind of expensive, and my real nails were just as nice, so now its au natural for me!
