I just got fake nails at a salon, can I use nail polish remover and repaint them whenever I want at home or will that ruin the fake nail?

They use acetone to remove nails so no, don't use acetone. I don't know if you can use non-acetone nail polish remover.
If you use the remover with acetone in it, itll eat your nail right off. They should have non-acetone polish remover. Ive only had fake nails once so i dont know how credible my advice is..![]()

if you do them yourself and dont get them filled, i personally think it will look stupid. you'll be able to see the line where your real nail is and the fake one. fake nails really arent meant to be done yourself.

your nails will grow. if you dont go to the nail salon and get them filled, and you just paint them yourself, that will be noticable, as you will be painting your real nail where it is growing out, too. you know?

Oh, I know I still need to go back approximately every two weeks to get them filled and I plan on it, but I'm not too happy with the way they painted the nail and I just want a solid color.

oh! yeah, i misunderstood. non acetone remover should be fine![]()
I just tired doing this and that topcoat they use is sooooo stubborn. I was scrubbing away forever and finally got it off. They did look nice a solid color though so I'm sure you'll be happy once you manage to get their topcoat off..
I love putting polish on my gel nails! It looks really smooth and pretty and for some reason comes off easier than from real nails! Just make sure you use the non-acetone remover and if you you black lights at work and they usually glow, make sure you polish the entire nail, so spots don't glow.
I'm confused, but the Chewbacca Truffle Shuffle cleared it up. - Emily
