    Default Acne prone skin

Does anyone know a good moisturizer for acne prone combination skin?I have oily skin for the most part and it gets worse throughout the day. But my chin and mouth area along with my forehead (between my eyebrows) is mostly dry. It looks very flaky in these areas when I apply my makeup. Anyone know of a good moisturizer to prevent this? Someone suggested MAC's moisture lush cream. Is this product any good?

I do sort of a spot treatment approach with my moisturizer because I have acne prone skin with a few super dry areas. I use good ol' thick derm-approved Cetaphil specifically on my super dry, flaky spots around my chin and forehead. I even rub the area gently with a washcloth after it has been moisturized and some of the flakes do come just right off.

I haven't tried the MAC moisturizers. The rest of their foundations are weird and give so many people acne problems that I've been avoiding them.

For the rest of my face I really like Olay products. Currently I use Olay Regenerist UV Defense Regenerating Lotion http://www.drugstore.com/products/pr...43&catid=13554. Its not greasy or too thick. Its just the right amount of moisture for acne areas imo. I picked it after reading a bunch of reviews and comparisons on it with more expensive brands. I think its supposed to provide really great sun protection. Don't exfoliate a crap ton before you put it on because like a few reviews said it will sting a bit. I think this is because of the sunscreen or something.

I had a free sample of some Olay Definity moisturizer too and it totally felt like Smashbox primer with a little bit of silicone-ness in it. My makeup went soo smoothly over it. I'm going to have to try that one next.

I find using a moisturizer with a chemical exfoliator (AHA,BHA, glycolic, retinol, etc.) helps a lot. I like Neutrogena's Anti Blemish Anti Wrinkle, it has a saliylic acid, retinol, and it's oil free. I use an oil free moisturizer in the AM with vitimins A,C, & E and an SPF. I also use a manual/granual exfoliator 2-3 times a week.

Thanks! I'll have to look into these. Have you ever tried Purpose soap and moisturizer? That's what my old Derm suggested but I don't know.

I second using Neutrogena's anti-blemish, anti-aging moisturizer. Works great for me!

Are you sure that it's dry and not dehydrated? How much water do you drink? If you push down slightly on the skin between your eyebrows down towards your nose and it wrinkles, you need more water. Besides a moisturizer, you should also use a base underneath your foundation. That would also help with the skin looking flakey. Personally, I like professional mositurizers the best (like the ones you get at spas, dermalogitca is a good line) but I've used MAC in the past and like it as well.

I have the same problem with my skin and I have been trying everything under the sun. So far I have found ZINC is a girls best friend, it helps. Also don't over wash. Ivory soap for some odd reason works well. Burts Bee's wax Blemish stick has also been working. The NTRGNA broke me out. Most acne treatments have left me with soars and dry skin???? I'll be checking back to see what else you ladies suggest. Thanks this place is so cool

That's a great moisturizer. I have it and forget to use it.
