Default Can u suggest a good SELF TANNER that doesnt stink?

...one that doesnt have a funky smell that gets worse while sweating and will come off on white clothes regardless of what the bottle says? Also one that doesnt give an ORANGE glow?

I cant really afford those professional spray tans, so something from the bottle pls!

    Thanks gals!

This one use to have an odor some didn't like but doesn't any longer. I think they have improved it greatly. I use it everyday in combination with the tanning bed once weekly. http://www.jergens.com/Our_Collectio...p?ProductID=25

    they all stink.

DHA is what has the odor, and that's what makes you tan. The reason some smell less, like the Jergens, is because it has less DHA.

I've used the Jergens and it works really well. There is a slight smell but it's definitely not as bad as some. I also just started using the Neutrogena Build A Tan stuff and i've liked it a lot too. Both are a tad bit sticky but not too bad at all.

One i would not waste your money on is the L'Oreal spray stuff, it left me sooo streaky! A week before prom too. Oh well!

It works enough where I don't visit the tanning bed but once a week as opposed to three times per week for the same results.

When you put it on though the color will appear gradually and wear off gradually. Like over three days time of applying it every morning you'll notice a difference.

I use Jergens too, and I like it. I've read reviews that it doesn't work that well on fair skin though, you need to have a little base color to begin with, I'm hispanic, so I'd say I'm a medium, it works wonders for me, and I don't mind the smell, I read that they changed the formula to avoid this problem. Results are very obvious in 2-3 days

I use the Walmart brand (Equate) version of the Jergens stuff. It works better and smells better.

I've been using the Jergens one that is also a skin firming lotion and I actually like the way it smells. It doesn't add much color though.

Tan Towels are located in some tanning salons, they are in silver packages and usually on the shelf w/accessories (goggles/stickers/etc). They aren't much and they apply instant color, I managed a tanning salon for couple years and never got any complaints about those! I think either QVC or HSC sells them too which means you can order them right off their websites! Try 'em!

those Tan Towels seem really easy to do, how dark do they get you? how many packets would you have to use to cover your whole body?

Thumbs up Re: Can u suggest a good SELF TANNER that doesnt stink?

The best self tanner that i have used is ST.TROPEZ it looks super dark in the bottle & i use it at night before bed but of course give it enough time to completely dry. when you put it on it look streaky as hell but in the morning you have the best tan & it's super even. i love this stuff you can buy it online or at ulta. oh the smell is like all other tanners but it is so worth it.

^ How funny. I clicked on this thread to suggest ST. TROPEZ but you obviously beat me to it haha

I am so surprised that ST. TROPEZ isn't raved about on this site. I know that in Europe it is like the HG of tanners.

ST. TROPEZ is what Victoria Beckham uses to get that lovely bronzed look. She is super pasty naturally.

I just saw this express one in a magazine.

I use SUN laboratories products and they stink a little and a bit sticky. Its great for an instant no rub off instant work tan.

Clarins makes wonderful self tanners. I've never had one make me anywhere near orange and they smell good.

St Tropez is good but this is a thread about non smelly tanners which St Tropez is definately not, it is mucho stinky. It does give a great colour but it don't smell good!

You could use the tanner at night and wear old clothes then in the morning stand in the shower and get wet. You'll lose a bit of color that way but also the smell and it won't come off on white clothes.
