I keep going back and forth about getting more done to my face. I know I probably want to go for it eventually, but it's not specifically for dancing, it's for ME. I'm just wondering if anyone who's had surgical improvements to their face noticed a significant increase in their money. The reason I'm asking is because I'm trying to decide if I should just go ahead and do it while I'm dancing (and make more money), or if there is no increase in $ and it should be my reward for finishing college and not dancing anymore. I'm not ugly by any means, I'm doing it to feel awesome and not just so-so about my face ... so please no "you don't need it, you're beautiful, surgery is wrong, natural is beautiful" type comments, ok?
When I do it, I'm definitely...
Replacing my chin implant - it's a U shape, which made my face too wide and doesn't project enough in profile, so all the consults I've had agree that I should get an implant which is more like a V. I had a very recessed chin.
Cheek implants - from the front I'm pretty, but in profile my cheeks are TOTALLY flat and it makes me look tired and hollow. Prominent cheeks and a defined jaw help as you age, so seeing my mother grow older who has the same problem has convinced me to do it.
Functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty - I had my deviated septum fixed when I was 19, so when I broke my nose at 22, it shattered my already delicate nasal spine. You know the part of your nose between your nostrils? Mine is completely GONE. So the surgeon would be putting in a cartilage graft to support my nose functionally, and while he's in there he's going to shave down the profile, refine the tip, and smooth out a lump.
Afterwards, I'm still going to look like myself (I've seen the simulated after pics) but like I grew into my face, or lost baby fat. I really don't want anything unnatural looking or to look like a totally different person.
Do you think my income will increase with a "prettier" face?
