    Default Lip Buffers

I searched for this, but found nothing. I want a buffer for dead skin on my lips, where i always seem to have problems! I searched CVS today for one, and foudn nothing, but thought maybe since I was looking for something so specific and *not* using a fine tooth comb that I missed it. When you ladies have dead skin on your lips, what do you do? clearly pulling it off leads to bleeding which leads to more probs, so what's a girl to do?

    Love it!

smashbox has this thing that I use. I forget the name of it, but if you go to the counter and tell 'em you want the smashbox lip exfoliator thing they'll know what you're talking about. it's sugar, salt, and some peppermint. does awesome things for your pucker and tastes SUPER.

i should refine what i'm looking for. right now i do what lady jade suggested using carmex constantly thru the day. i dislike this method however, and i recall seeing someone else using a lip exfoliator before using chapstick in high school or college. i actually think it was like a lip smackers thing.

so, if yall could suggest products specific for this use, that'd be superb!

I brush my lips every time I brush my teeth, then I use Carmex constantly. (I use the tub of Carmex and I add a tiny bit of peppermint and tea tree oil to it) If you want to make your own scrub, I'll also mix lemon juice and sugar and rub it on my lips.

I shower, and let the skin on my lips soften with the water and steam, maybe do a face scrub. When I get out of the shower I cover my lips in aquaphor which really helps to soften any buildup, then I'll brush my teeth and maybe put on my makeup. By then, your lips should be moisturized. Wipe all the excess off firmly with a towel. Voila! Soft lips!

    Personally?

I'm a cheap ass, lol! I just use a med grit fingernail file and use it gently on my lips. Then wash them with a good facial cleanser (I use MyMichele Honeydew Cleanser), then I put on the honey flavor Bert's Bees.

Never have a problem with them since, and ALWAYS wear a balm, ALWAYS!!!

Body shop used to have a lip buffer...it was sort of like sandpaper encased in lipbalm. Very effective...I haven't bought one since grade 7 though, so don't know if it's still around.

I like Aquafor ( Aquaphor ? ) . I'm doing Accutane right now and I'm having the hardest time with my lips . It's not a scrub, but it seems to be helping with dryness significantly .

I used to use one made by mary kay. I liked it, it worked pretty well. I'll see if I can find it.

I do the same. As soon as you get out of the shower apply and let sit for 5 minutes. Then aggresively (but not too aggressively) rub the lip area. Once done apply another layer of lip balm. It works wonders, not only do they look and feel better, your lip makeup with go on smoother and more evenly.

it's not dryness i have a problem with. it's buffing off the dead skin without bleeding. i think i'm gonna try the philosophy and the einstein one.

When I brush my teeth, I just use the toothbrush and brush my lips too. The minty toothpaste makes my lips tingle and plumps them a tiny bit. So that's pretty nice. Then I rinse off the toothpaste, and scrub my lips with a dry washcloth or my towel.

Works like a charm and it's freeeee!

I just use plain ol' sugar! works like a charm, and yummy too! Just dip your finger in some water, then in the sugar, and rub it in! It works as good as any scrub out there, I promise!
