    Default death in the family

I just felt like I needed to post this and didn't know where else to go, but this morning my 88 year old grandmother died after a long battle with Alzhemiers diease. I'm sad, but I know that she is at peace and in no more pain, and that she is reunited with her family.

Sorry to hear that. It's really hard letting family members go but hopefully you have good memories to remember her by..

88 years is a long time. She lived a full life. Hope that she went peacefully.

My grandpa recently died of Muscular Dystrophy, a disease that both my mother and sister have.

It kinda freaked my family out, but I was the only one who never cried about it. I just figured he was finally free of a body that was crippled. I don't believe in any kind of afterlife, but my grandpa was confined to a wheelchair and eventually a hospital bed for the last 5 years of his life. I truly believe that when someone has a debilitating illness, death is freedom from their disease.

I hope you can find peace with that like I did during a trying time.

I'm so sorry for your family's loss. I hope it was a peaceful death and she had no regrets before Alzheimer's took over. May you all find peace and may that horrible disease avoid the rest of you!

Thank you all for you love and support, my family and I thank you from our hearts. So far, I haven't cried, my mom says it will come soon, but right now the tears don't wanna come, so i've been taking care of my parents today.

ClaireBear, I'm sorry to hear the news. My experience is that you enter a different realm after something like this happens. After some time goes by, you still are spending time with the loved one you lost, asking them for help and support when you need it, or having discussions with them, and they come to you from a younger, better time. It is different for everyone, but I am hoping that you can have some peaceful time now with your grandmom and the memories you all built together.

I know how hard it is to watch someone go through the end of life. You're doing a great thing supporting your parents. I'm sure they'll need it for a while.

I hope your family will have some peace and rest in the weeks to come, and take good care of your heart. Hang in there.
