I'm talking about things like....
The number of televisions in the club
Pay-per-view sporting events (like UFC for example, or boxing)
Kitchen with a full menu?
Free buffets...free ANYTHING, really.....
Happy hour
And any other extra "bells and whistles" I can't think of right now
I have found that in my town, these things attract the kind of customers we as dancers aren't too fond of. You guys know who I am talking about, I shouldn't have to explain.....
Do these things help your money, or hurt it??
The reason I thought of this thread is because I was sitting and thinking, comparing my old club to my new one, and it makes sense why I am doing so much better at my new club.
Number of TV's at my old club: 2 huge big-screens and like a half dozen other good-size flat panels. Most of which were placed right by the side stages. UFC every saturday, boxing as well.
Number of TV's at my new club: 2 total. Medium size, in the back of the club away from the stages. The club does not host televised sporting events, either.
The result: Guys actually come to the club to see strippers. Not sporting events that they can't afford on pay-per-view at their house. At my old club, I would be on one of the side stages, and people would be tellling me I was in the way of the TV, trying to look around me, doing the "shoo, get out of the way" motion with their hand. Needless to say, no stage tips and certainly no lap dances on sports days. My girlfriend put a champagne bucket on her head for her stages one time during a football game and nobody noticed.
At my old club: Kitchen with a full menu including steak and seafood. Free food buffets several times a week.
New club: No kitchen, just a vending machine.
The result: Guys actually come there to see strippers, not get a free taco buffet or a 2$ steak special. There would actually be homeless people coming in off the street when we would have free buffets at my old club. Management allowed it! There was no drink or dance minimum to get the buffet, all you had to do was walk in the club. Not to mention that the food from the kitchen was so good, people would come there just to eat. I can't tell you how many times I asked for dances and was told they were there "for dinner" and were leaving right after. Sucks when the food at the club overshadows the entertainers.
I understand why owners and management make the business decisions that they do to have these kinds of things. I know it makes them mad dough and the profit big time from it. I don't want a lesson in business, all I want to know is how it effects your money at your club, in your town.
My new club is just a simple, no frills strip club. People come there for one reason and one reason only: To watch strippers and get lap dances. Not for food, not for sports, for girls. I love it. The club has been open for at least 10 years under the same name...I guess they are doing something right.
