    Default Kat Von D

I love Kat Von D! I think she is the hottest! Do you think if I got a sleeve or half sleeve like hers I'd have a hard time getting jobs dancing? I wonder because I know tattoos are somewhat controversial in the clubs, and yet of course there's also a niche of men who love the look.

i personally would love to have a sleeve... but then again... rich middle aged men tend to prefer strippers with minimal ink in my experiences. my sleeve will have to wait until i'm done dancing.

meh. a risk i'm willing to take. i think if ink is well-done, interesting, and well-placed, it makes a difference. i watched an interview w/ kat von d where she was supremely drunk.. kinda funny.

is anyone else sick of all the tattoo related threads lately? i think we have enough, christ....

and this coming from a heavily tattooed successful stripper.

dont get tattoos like kat von d. you are not her. tattoos are not a fashion statemement. they are popular now sure you think they will be in a couple dozen years? get what you want, or dont get tattoos if you arent ok with a lifetime commitement. gah... go get a gucci purse if you want to be trendy.

besides do you do everything in your personal life for jobs? if you do tattoos are not for you, most jobs are not too accepting of them. get them for you, becuase you really want them or not.

i sorry im drunk and i think that this thread is stupid. the op comes off as just wanting to be trendy, not caring about future consequences in her personal life only her job life.

^ not having a good night? still loving the rodent grubbing

unless you're in or near an area that has a lot of clubs, or an alternative type atmosphere (typically west coast) I wouldn't recommend lots of tats if you still want the freedom to dance whereever.

I plan on getting bunches of tattoos, however, I'm going to wait a few years until I'm closer to retirement.

Kat Von D is one of the few women who can actually pull off having that many tats and still be sexy as hell. It's totally too much, but with her I just don't care. She's yummy. However, my husband and I laugh everytime they show her with her boyfriend "Orby" on the show. I'm sure he's a nice guy and all, but what a dork!

Love her. I just want to know where she shops...her pants are so hot.

You should ask dancers in your area that you see in the clubs who are tattooed about their experiences. Yo u can also start off getting the sleeve done piece by piece to test customer reaction.

Personally if I wanted a sleeve, I'd just get it. I feel like they get so much from me already in the club, I want to be able to put whatever I want on my body without looking for permission from strange men.

i.breathe.in.... you're hot when you're drunk and smarmy. but i agree... to have a sleeve is NOT to be like Kat Von D. The chick has tattoos EVERYWhere... sure, there are some people who can pull off this "look," but personally I think it looks awful.

I like tattoos SOMETIMES. One of my biggest pet peeves is incongruent/bad ink... a tat here, a tat there, nothing having to do with the other and just creating unnecessary randomness on a really pretty canvas. Good ink by a talented artist that actually has some meaning/fluidity/congruence is great- and also allows for more OF it without looking trashy.

Her sleeve is great. Some of the tattoos on her legs look horrendous. So no- I would NOT advocate getting tattoos like hers... and if you want "a sleeve," get one because you actually have a worthwhile design you'd like to see wrapped around your arm for the rest of you life, not because Kat Von D has one.

A friend in my club has a half sleeve and she does make good money, I don't really think her tattoos limit her earinngs at all. She did find it hard to get a job though, when she first auditioned at our current club she got knocked back because of her tattoos, she only got accepted at our sister club because the manager that auditioned her has alot of tattoos himself. If any of the other managers at that club had auditioned her I doubt she would have gotten the job.

I will never understand people who come onto discussion forums to be condescending, to imagine other people's motivations and then pass rude, drunken judgments on them. You'll never see me disrespect someone else that way. If you need to put other people down to feel good about yourself, you got problems.

You have no clue who I am, what tattoos I already may or may not have, etc.

I tend to get ink after spending years thinking about the design, but who am I to tell anybody else that that's the "right" way to do it? If you like tribal bands because they're trendy, fuck, go for it. Maybe you will like it for life, or maybe it'll become part of a new design later. Hey, Pam Anderson's still looks hot! It's not my place to tell you my values are better than yours.

Personally, I really don't think Kat is all that hot, and I don't really like her tattoos.

I am tattooed and my ol man is a tattoo artist so it's that she's tattooed, I love women with ink but I don't care for hers. Most of the inked women that I think are hot have well though put pieces. Hers seem to be a bunch of work that she's gotten over the years from several artist, just like my husband, to me she's tattooed like a guy (or like some guys are, not all of them).

If you want a sleeve then get it but think about where you may want to work. I know there are some clubs that won't hire me because I'm inked, that's ok with me, their lose not mine.

your kidding right? you just said you wanted a sleeve "like hers" thats pretty easy to read as "i want to copy x's tattoos or style because im unoriginal"

your right i dont know what tattoos you have but since your asking if they will affect your money, id guess you dont have many or not very big ones. and really your going to have tattoos for life your going to dance what not even a third of your life? come on, do what you want, dont base it on dancing, as someone else posted we do enough for these men at work, modifying your body should be your choice, dont let the men at work make that for you.

im working on full sleeves and i am a top earner at my club, its about attitude and personality too, if you have that you can make money with lots of tattoos.

i wasnt shitting in your cheerios, i may have been drunk but i was quite on the mark with my post, and my spelling wasnt too shabby either for all the sake i had.

And also, btw, liking someone's style, or being inspired, doesn't mean you're inauthentic. It just means you have similar taste. For any tatttoo anybody has anywhere, someone else somewhere has it too, or else something very much like it.

I like Japanese style tats a lot. Other people like new school. I suppose you can say it's not original if it already exists as a style. But so what.

Now, your point about not giving a fuck about work...who has that luxury? This business is based on appealing to men. Obviously, I strip to make money, and if I find myself unable to get hired, that really puts shit in my cheerios.
