differently since you've been a member of SW?

(I'm not sure if this has been posted before so forgive me if it has!)

I mean you guys get to read about all the inner workings of a club and you get to see how we vent about the customers. Has this site changed the way you view dancers now??

I found that the more time I spent in SCs the more my views changed.

SW was a part of the learning curve, but not nearly as important as direct experiences.

^^ sort of what he said, direct experience is more important.

But yeah, this site has made a difference too. Before this site (heck, before the internet), I would walk into a club, and all I would see is...strippers!! Naked chicks!!! All exactly the same except for the physical (body shape/size/hair). But after this site (and after a lot of direct experience) I don't see a mass of all-alike strippers when I walk in. I see a bunch of very different women who just happen to be doing the same job.

I came to this site specifically to learn about what a stripper has to deal with in her day to day job. There was someone I had become fond of and I wanted to be more informed for when I saw her...and avoid doing/saying stupid things. I also had a vague feeling that I was deluding myself about the situation, nevertheless I cared.

The more I read, the more I came to care for all women in this business. The more hurt feelings and indignities and struggles I read about, the more my resolve to not be part of the problem. Also, dancers are fun, and interesting people to chat with...and here you can chat with girls all over the world.

I guess the short answer is yes, this site has changed the way I view dancers. I have a much greater sense of admiration and respect now.

Well, when you hear a particular line from a stripper it's difficult not to wonder if she has read Hustle Hut. But at the end of the day I'm really good at convincing myself that she really likes me.

Even the one's who are sincere and really like me still say basically the same stuff as hustle hut. Convergent evolution, I guess.

No, not really. If anything, it has caused me to look at customers differently.

No, Stripperweb hasn't made me look at dancers any differently. However, a few things I've found out on Stripperweb have surprised me.

I'm surprised that a LOT of dancers don't like having regulars. I'd previously assumed that dancers universally coveted regulars.

I'm surprised that so many dancers live hand-to-mouth.

I'm surprised that a great many dancers (apparently a majority) really enjoy stage dancing.

Yes. I had no idea so many dancers held their customers in such contempt, but I guess that comes with the nature of the job.

Kind of how I feel about tourists and drunks after spending a year working in casino security (man am I ever glad to be out of THAT f'ing job!!).

Not wanting to be seen in the same light, I no longer patronize strip clubs.

I've been giving several dancers lifts home for a number of years (and often other dancers if they go the same way). I essentially get a 'live' version of the conversations here on SW.

The net effect has been to diminish the erotic effect of nudity - I've got very blasse about it.

I also (I have to admit) watch the average customer in a SC and wonder "don't you realise it's all smoke and mirrors?"

I'm just glad none of my regs read this site. They'd probably never talk to me again. I often wonder why men would want to come onto this site and read what we really think. Not all customers are bad though. And there are actually guys we genuinely like so I guess it's not all bad.

    Dancers specifically? No.

Women in general? A big yes. It's kind of scary as a guy to read some of the stuff on here.

I don't think my perspective has changed all that much, as I try and take people on a case-by-case basis. However, I know for a fact that I've become a much more generous tipper since joining SW.

That's awesome. I've had discussions with guys in my club about how we have to pay the club to work there. Many customers are unaware that we work so hard because not everything they hand us stays in our purse at the end of the night. Many of them also think that what we do is "easy". There is a lot more that goes on than what most customers imagine.

I've not yet busted a customer who is holds out his crumpled $1 bill to a stage dancer like it's a shard of the True Cross, but I'm coming close. Dude, $5s and $10s!

Come work in Canada and you'll get nothing under a five. Giving a coin as a tip for a dancer just isn't going to fly.

Yeah, that and the social isolation, sometimes even from family.

Hahaha, especially not when we're bartending because we don't like driving to dance far away in winter in our not good in snow car

I don't look at them differently, but SW2 brought up a great point that gets illustrated here on the board quite a bit; so many girls in the business are really lonely. Honestly, genuinely lonely. And the social isolation seems to permeate so much of their personality sometimes; I'm just more aware of that now.

I'm definitely generous with tipping, because I had no idea how a percentage of dancers' tips go to the club. I used to think dancers keep all of their money, and I didn't realize how hard they work.

Other than that, I've always respected and was fascinated by strippers before I joined this forum.

This forum has definitely opened my eyes to the "non glamorous" aspects of being a stripper. On the outside, it looks like a big party to me with dancing to your favorite songs in sexy outfits, getting attention from men, interacting with new people and making a lot of money while doing it. It gets more complicated obviously when you throw house fees, hustling, being able to be on your feet and keep a happy face for several hours on high heels into the equation.

lol,, QFT! And Ive been around the block a few times ( ok many times ).

Unlike Shot, I do view dancers a bit differently because of this site. Its not like I was a jerk or a fucko ( haha trivia thread ) but u do have a different perspective, its hard not to. I dont think I can say how Ive changed - maybe more empathetic - but yeah, Ive definitely changed how I view a dancer.

Maybe because I separate the club from here... Thus I really don't think of you ladies as Dancers, as mcuh as I do people I talk to on the net.
