Cool.. I'm narrowed down to the Rebel and the D80. I'm leaning more toward the Nikon because it's listed on most sites as the #1 SLR of its kind right now. The Rebel is at #2, but the majority of people that I know have Nikons (most with D40, but they want a D80).

The Olympus sounds nice just because the kit includes 2 lenses, but that might not mean much--could be a craptastic camera.

K.. Totally decided on the D80.. Now I'm SO waiting for May 16th to hurry up and get here.. LOL

I got a Tripod last week (LOVE IT!) as well as more fabric to use for backdrops. I prefer Fleece because it doesn't wrinkle as much. I've done pretty much a shoot a day since I last checked in, but I did want to post the most recent---today. I absolutely loved this shoot. My little Model chose her own props, her own poses--everything. Not sure what I'm going to do with myself when she starts Kindergarten in the Fall! Oy.

Anyhoo---here are some of my faves from the shoot. Only thing I did was resized and played with the curves a bit--they still need more tweaking.

...i'll just mention that the typical digital point & shoot camera under $300 has its limitations (no matter what ISO/megapixel) due in part to its smaller sensor size/type. By moving up to a higher end digital camera with a larger sensor size/type, the pictures will be clearer and the ISO, megapixels, etc... will have a better effect. Thank goodness for PSP plugins to help correct lighting, color, sharpness, noise, etc...

So true.. I'd be lost without my Photoshop when it comes to editing from this camera. Strangely enough, I didn't have to edit so much with my EasyShare, just a bit of brightening and the pics were great. With this camera I find I have to mess with the curves a TON.

But yeah, I can't wait for my Nikon. It's going to be a blast getting used to it, but I'll have fun experimenting.

Some from a Shoot today.. Best I could do--Light wasn't cooperating and I hadn't shot in over a week so I was antsy. Hunter refused to sit for most of them of course, so I grabbed pics of him in his high chair when he was finished with lunch.. lol

These are here for a limited time, but I wanted to share the awesome pics I shot yesterday. Nothing beats natural light!
