    Ok, I can totally see myself getting lipo on my inner thighs one day. I've heard it is one of the hardest spots to tone on your body and it definitely is for me. My pilates video only does a bit of toning for inner thighs and I was hoping you ladies could give me some advice. What are some inner thigh exercises I can do at home? Any dvd recommendations? Or should I just suck it up and get a trainer?? I plan to work with a trainer before I consider lipo anyway. Just hoping there's something I can do at home in the meantime.

    Grrr, I feel like I need the Thighmaster!!! Help me ladies!!!

    Aside from diet and genetics...the best thing to do is a lot of resistance training on your quads and butt. That will help build the muscle mass while reducing bodyfat. You already know how I feel about the benefits of a personal trainer, at least to help with proper form and technique maximization.

    Again, a lot of it is genetic. The only time I had really slender inner thighs was when I did a lot of drugs and danced all the time.

    I've done the trainer thing...spent close to 3000+ on a trainer. Great decision to get a trainer but I just didn't have the body I wanted after working really hard. So I'm getting lipo.

    I say the best ones are lunges. Backwards lunges, step ups, vertical leg presses too. Of course don't forget the cardio, it plays a big part in keeping the fat away. I would say get the trainer. They'll teach you how to properly execute the exercises so that you can benefit from doing them. Also, by doing them properly you'll protect your body from injury. Proper execution = best results.

    I've thought about lipo on my lower belly, just that little bump right under the belly button, somewhere down the line. But I don't want the fat to grow back as saddlebags, etc....

    I too have the inner thigh fat...wha has really helped me sticking 6lbs of ankle weights..on my ankles...laying on my back with my legs straight up in the air and moving them in and out.....3 sets of 50. just a thought

    I'm kind of in the same boat. I spent a lot more on a trainer and I got great resullts, but certain areas are being stubborn. I'm seriously considering lipo....especially smartlipo.

    The stairmaster for 30 min 3x a week.....i've lost total inches around my thigh from that and low carbing it.

    I'm considering lipo, too. I've gotten pretty far down on the scale before but I just shrank, it didn't change the shape I was born with.

    honestly... i moved into an apartment on the 3rd floor and i walk them at least twice a day, everyday... my legs are looking killer... especially my inner thighs. so stairmaster it baby!

    Me too. I've had a few trainers. I even had one tell me that in order to lose the fat I don't like on my thighs that I'd probably have to get my body fat so low that I wouldn't like the way the rest of me looked, not to mention I'd be miserable trying to get it that low. I just had a consult with a PS I really like. She said she had the same problem before she had lipo. She said the only time she lost the extra fat on her thighs was when she was in college and worked out about 4-5 hours a day for competetive sports and had 8% body fat.

    Sweet, we have a stairmaster in the gym in my building. I am going to hop on it TODAY!!

    the only thing that has helped me is changingmy carbs, no bread just get my carbs from brown pasta, and running. I know it gets said over n over but running melts fat fast. granted its melted fat all over my body but its the only thing that has helped my thunder thighs too!!!!

    I have a suggestion...tone it down on the junk food. lol

    I second the stair thing. I used to live on the second floor in an apartment with stairs and my legs never looked better. Try the stair stepper instead of the stairmaster. It's more of a climber with actual stairs that move.

    Well, from your pics it looks like you already have great legs! However, I'd have good results from Pilates and from Rodney Yee's Yoga for Flexibility (more from this one). I may still be wobbly in the thighs (genetics ) but my thighs look a lot leaner and longer. Which is something!

    Probably not a viable option for everybody, but horseback riding will tone up your thighs in no time.

    I swear I don't eat that much junk food!!! At your house, it was a matter of convenience, at home I grocery shop and cook. But I could still eat healthier I guess, its just SO MUCH EFFORT! I do snack on crap at home tho so I bought some grapes instead of M & M's. I need to find more healthy snacks.

    I need to do something about my inner thighs as well. It grosses me out to feel them touching together, like it literally makes me want to throw up (I know, it's kind of weird).

    Running worked the best for me previously but it's so hard on the knees. Stairmaster just doesn't have the same effect for me.

    in the past i've had good results from step-ups. i love them so much. i imagine climbing up stairs or working out on bleachers (i want to, but i have no idea where to go) would be just as good.

    stair-like exercise machines just aren't the same at all. screw the stairmaster. get into the free weight area with about 10 pounds and do as many step ups as you can, alternating sides, rest, do more, rest, do more. they're so awesome.

    Conveninetly, I had to take 3 semesters of pilates in college, so I have a solution.

    Okay, in the side kick series, there are two moves that will fix this, or make it more toned anyway, and tighter.

    So, okay....hopefully you have a good teacher who taught you proper pilates technique. If not, my best reccommendation is to buy The Pilates Body by Brooke.....I forget her last name. It's the truest to the actual work of Josef Pilates.

    Not to jack this thread here, ladies, but if you are not getting results from your pilates classes at the gym, it's because well, most gyms do NOT NOT NOT have authentic pilates classes, just like their classes aren't going to make you an actual kickboxer either. If you really want to get into it, go to a pilates studio and find somebody who is actually pilates certified. When they tell you they are pilates certified, ask where they studied. If it wasnt New York, they are full of shit. Because that's the only place you can do it.

    I DIGRESS

    So you are going to be on your side, laying with your arm flat out and your head on top of your arm. Make sure that your legs are stacked and your whole body is in an exact straight line. Also pull your navel in towards your spine to make sure your allignment is good. Make sure you are not leaning forward or back at all. this is hard. If this is not hard, either youre a pilates master or you're doing it wrong.

    Okay, so from this position you're going to take your top leg . You're going to place it over your other leg WITHOUT MOVING YOUR TORSO so that your foot is flat on the ground, over your knee, and in a 90 degree angle.

    Now, lift your bottom leg. It's tough and you will feel it working. Slowly do this up and down with feet flexes 16 times. DO NOT raise your leg so high you move your upper torso. DO NOT raise your hip. Rest. Now 16 reps with feet pointed. Rest. Now 16 reps flex up, point down. Point up, flex down.

    Switch sides.

    Stretch.

    Repeat.

    PS do it bare footed or your shoes will mess up your allignment with their weight.

    I did the mastercleanse and my thighs shrunk! even after a couple weeks I've still kept off ten pounds and that's including a few "crap" meals.
    though-- some of my muscle mass did go as well, my thighs are noticeably smaller and so I figure I'll probably do the MC again in a month or two and up the squats while I do it (the theory is that if your body knows that you have to USE your muscle, it will get rid of the fat first instead of getting rid of muscle and some fat.)
