So, on the way home from work my friend and I usually stop at this one exit to get gas, a drink, and sometimes food. There's a Mcdonalds at this exit, and last night at 2:30 am I was really cravin me a quarta-pounder.![]()
So we go through the drive-thru (which I might stress is 24 hours), and we were told "We're closed right now." (all lights were on, sign was on, drive thru speakers AND menu were obviously on)
I said "What? I thought this place was 24 hours?" The girl responds, "Well we only have 2 employees working right now, so we're not serving anything until breakfast in 2 hours" 2 hours?!??! Also, my friend asked if there was anything we could order AT ALL, and the girl told us no.
WTF?? Talk about false advertising. Thing is, this is not the first time this has happened. Actually, its the 3rd time this month this has happened. The other 2 times, we were told that the grill was being cleaned, and the menu was "switching over."
I don't know much about how many workers it takes to run a McDonald's, but at 2 in the morning in the suburbs I would think 2 people is sufficient. I worked 3rd shift at a diner before, where we had to cook and prepare all the food, and most nights we only had 2-3 employees working. And a big corporate-owned place DEFiNITELY can't close for something like that??? They should at least turn off the lights if they aren't going to serve food for 2 hours.
I think I am going to call the manager tonight. I have a feeling these girls (same 2 girls everytime) aren't supposed to be doing this. I don't know why I'm so bothered by this, but its just so wrong that they are there getting paid and not doing their job. Ugh. Just needed to rant.
