    Default McDonalds Rant 2

So, on the way home from work my friend and I usually stop at this one exit to get gas, a drink, and sometimes food. There's a Mcdonalds at this exit, and last night at 2:30 am I was really cravin me a quarta-pounder.

So we go through the drive-thru (which I might stress is 24 hours), and we were told "We're closed right now." (all lights were on, sign was on, drive thru speakers AND menu were obviously on)
I said "What? I thought this place was 24 hours?" The girl responds, "Well we only have 2 employees working right now, so we're not serving anything until breakfast in 2 hours" 2 hours?!??! Also, my friend asked if there was anything we could order AT ALL, and the girl told us no.

WTF?? Talk about false advertising. Thing is, this is not the first time this has happened. Actually, its the 3rd time this month this has happened. The other 2 times, we were told that the grill was being cleaned, and the menu was "switching over."

I don't know much about how many workers it takes to run a McDonald's, but at 2 in the morning in the suburbs I would think 2 people is sufficient. I worked 3rd shift at a diner before, where we had to cook and prepare all the food, and most nights we only had 2-3 employees working. And a big corporate-owned place DEFiNITELY can't close for something like that??? They should at least turn off the lights if they aren't going to serve food for 2 hours.

I think I am going to call the manager tonight. I have a feeling these girls (same 2 girls everytime) aren't supposed to be doing this. I don't know why I'm so bothered by this, but its just so wrong that they are there getting paid and not doing their job. Ugh. Just needed to rant.

they could be doing other things. some people work when the establishment isnt actually open. ive gone to mcdonalds a few times and been told theyre closed, for various reasons, even though theyre 24 hours. things happen.. i wouldnt call that false advertising.

That happened to me with Jack in the Box a few months ago. At least someone answered you... I was completely ignored (if people were even in there). I was pissed with their "drive thru open 24 hours" posters plastered all over the place so I wrote the company (at least expecting free stuff, lol). I got a letter back with a phone number of someone I could complain to. Yea right. I drive past that place every time I go home. I've actually checked up just out of boredom. That drive through always closes at midnight and yet they have their 24 hour signs up still. I guess I should have called the number they gave me, I was just so pissed that I took the time to write and the only response involved more time and effort on my part.

I don't understand the point of having employees there at all if you're closed (2 employees can put burger patties on the belt and dump fries in the grease). If there really is something going on (because shit happens), turn off the "Open" lights.
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.

Uggghhh I've had experiences like this before. THat's why I freakin' hate McDonalds!! And yes, I do suggest you call the manager. You can at least get some free food out of the deal.

I had a semi bad experience at McDonalds today, too. On my way to work, I stopped to get some food, the "2 Egg McMuffins for $3" special amongst other food. I specified that I didn't want ham on the Egg McMuffins. So the girl rang them up correctly(no ham) after screwing it up and having me correct her, but charged me full price ($2.50 each instead of 2/$3). I had to get the manager to show her how to correct it. Sometimes I feel like you really gotta watch your back at places like that.
