    Smiley clubs in vegas

Being that I have lived in vegas my entire life and have danced at or visited almost every club here let me just give some advice to all others wishing for advice on here or just wanting to know my honest professional opinion.

Larry's Villa- Quite possibly the most run down strip club I have ever visited and that was with the renovation they just recently had. Upon enterance I was greeted by men with metal detectors who warn you if you " If you have a knife get rid of it" and " Ladies we have to look inside your purse" it was gross really gross and the dancers were most certianly second rate.

Cheetahs- I worked here for over 3 years. They do get a nice comeback rate and a major mix of ladies. The club is in need of a remodel badly and club owner Jack Gilardi does make apperances from time to time. You really have to compete here because there are ALOT of girls and some are nasty with there dances. For the most part it's a nice club when you have regulars like I did but you do deal with politics however the girls are great it's like a half naked family.

Olympic Gardens- While alot of money rolls through here on a nightly basis ( alot of parties for bachelors and bachlorettes due to having both male and female dancers on a nightly basis) I didn't see one bouncer on the entire floor alot of things going on that I don't personally agree with. I have alot of friend who love it here but it gave me a bad taste

Sapphire- This club was DEAD and HUGE and the stage was horrible I hated performing on it. Guys get intimidated. If you have natural breasts and are clean you could really do well there considering that all the others girls are agmented and pretty good with mileage(ewww!). I hated going to and working here

Club Paradise- Very strict dress code not just for the customers but especially for the performers. While I never worked at this club ( too fancy) I do know that 7 out of 10 girls who audition will not get hired. It's a NICE and classy establishment but just too many rules for me. Go to this place when you want to impress a client or show a new girlfriend a club.

De Ja Vu- Wow! These girls are young and thin. Great stage shows for a nude club but just not the best management or clientle.

Girls of Glitter Gulch- My absolute favorite club to work at in all of Las Vegas. ALOT of tipping on stage due to the set-up and location the club is always busy and alot of tourists. Dances start at 25 on the main floor. If you are a clean dancer with a great personality it's a goldmine. The club is really pretty after a 5 million dollar renovation and the managers are first class.

Little Darlings- Be Annorexic and Really Young. I didn't see anything but bone skinny girls. The management was horrible to me here and they take about 40% a night of what you make sometimes more. Great place for younger people due to the stage shows but not to work at.

Play It Again Sams: Great place to hang out at . Most certianly an older dancer atmosphere. The stage is beautiful and they have a resturant. If you are a beautiful girl this is a great place to start at but watch your back as some of the girls can get catty at times. Management is very nice but the money is not always great like at other clubs. Good place to get a feel for dancing at .

Sherris Cabaret; I worked here before they remodeled it and it was SMALL! The place cleaned up and they still are a favorite of cab drivers due to the incentives they get for taking customers here. The V.I.P rooms are really cool as the door changes color to prevent voyers and you can select your own music. The only downside is the club takes 60% of what the girls make which is not cool for being nude all day and often dealing with little customer base.

Spearmint Rhino: I have alot of girlfriend who work here. John is the most cruel and demeaning manager I have ever seen, he works nights and if your not a barbie doll forget it cause he's just WAY harsh to everyone. The club runs an average of at least 250 girls working at all times nights see about 500 ladies on the weekends and it's always jam packed. I hear the money is great I wouldnt know as I was too fat to be in the building according to management. Go in at 3am I hear it's the best shift management and moneywise.

Treasures- The most beautiful club in all of Las Vegas in my opinion. I have not worked here but all the girls seem to be enjoying themselves. I was told by several ladies working that it's hit and miss, meaning either you have a guy in there that is giving you gobs of money or.... nothing all day. The place always is busy at night and it's a gown atmosphere, the most beautiful club I have been to almost too nice.

Good luck no matter where you decide to visit and remember only you can control your destiny in this bussiness.

wow thanks, this is awesome, i'm going to vegas in 2 weeks!
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

    Anatsasia:

I strongly disagree with what you said about John.

I moved to Vegas when I was 21, and Spearmint was the first place I ever worked out there. Both John and Ricco (no longer there, I think he's at Scores) were EXTREMELY nice to me and went over and beyond to make sure that I got set up with some nice people out there.

It sucks that he can't hire everyone, but this is a really competitive industry, esp in Las Vegas, and everyone wants to work at Spearmint so they can be choosey about who they take.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not perfect either and since I've stopped dancing I've gained what seems like a gazillion pounds myself and I wouldn't show up at Spearmint expecting to work cause I'd probably get put on a different shift then I'm on now, but whatever, that's the nature of the beast. It's not personal.

Also, from your post you make it clear that you never worked at Spearmint, or for John, so how would you know how he is? I don't think it's fair how everyone hates on him for no reason other than, you're right, he only hires girls who are "barbies." (by barbie I mean having a very thin, toned figure. I don't mean blonde hair/blue eyes)

I would also like to add that I was not born with a perfect body, and most girls there aren't. It took me countless hours in the gym, the discipline to follow a strict diet, and a lot of money ton hair/nails/clothes to look Spearmint ready. The girls who look that way, with some exceptions, are putting a lot of time and effort into it....And I don't think there is anything wrong with rewarding girls who do put the time and effort into looking model perfect by putting them on a better shift then those who don't. Also, there is no reason that most girls couldn't work that shift if they put the time and effort into working out/dieting/doing hair make up etc. I am not trying to be bitchy or anything at all, just so you know. I'm just saying that damn right, if I devote three hours a day to body mantience I'm doing my part to make the club look good and it's not out of line to be rewarded for my hard, boring work.

    I'll add my 2 pennies:

I also workout like a fiend 3 hrs a day also, have worked at SR and concur that John is the most obnoxious demeaning coked-out mgr I've ever come across. I also know that he reads these boards and will fire anyone talking trash about him if he can figure out who you are from your avatar. Soooo, since I haven't set foot inside SR since I worked there in 2002, I'm not too worried. He was bad 6 years ago...I heard from my friend on nite shift (who shall remain nameless) that he's only gotten worse with success.

As for SR being "the best" club in town...meh! All the clubs have pretty much the same pricing for VIP across the board. I take a different approach and work at 2nd tier clubs where I can blow away most of the competition, and not have to deal with the twentysomething "let's-party" types.

That said, I'll be at Treasures for 3 days during Con-Agra and ShoWest. It's not a gown club. It is hit or miss, but I only work Vegas twice a month for huge conventions, so it's going to be a hit for me next week

I have heard nothing but bad things about John at the Rhino. It was to a point where people who have never even worked in Vegas were warning me about him. Needless to say, I was VERY hesitent to try to work there.
However, when I auditioned there last year, he was the one who hired me for the "good" shift. I almost fell over.
He was very nice... I came in with two friends, and one didn't get hired. He actually pulled me aside to apologize for it, and asked the best way to tell her she wouldn't be working with us. I have NEVER seen a manager (esp. at Rhino) do that.
Moral of the story- club reviews and insight about staff/dancers at particular clubs can be helpfull, but you never really know until you try yourself.

From what I've heard about this John douche bag, is that he's extremely pleasant to the girls that are barbie enough to get hired, and those that he feels are not SR worthy he's a stuck up asshole to them. Sounds like a real stand up dude.... :rollseyes

John has always been nice to me when I've worked there, but I know he has really hurt some girls feelings when they were auditioning. I really think it depends on what kind of night he's having as to whether he'll give a polite rejection or a rude one, nothing personal. Girls auditioning at SR should be prepared for this going in.

There are 10 to 20 girls a night that audition for John's shift. There are already a ton of girls working his shift so they can be very picky about who they hire. Thus, the shift is VERY COMPETITIVE. I don't go to work to make friends though, I'm all about the money and I have a thick skin.

I will admit I've seen the bouncers as well as John rude to girls that don't work the night shift

I don't think posting hearsay and rumors is helpful information, especially if you've never worked there.

Maybe I'm just sick of Vegas threads always turning into rants about the Rhino.

Very well put: If you get your feeling hurt easily and can't take the heat....stay out of Rhino's kitchen. If you like to be in the thick of things at a hot club, then you are going to have to deal with the pressures that go hand in hand with working there.

On the flip side there are PLENTY of other options that can be just as lucrative. I left Scores to work at Treasures to decrease my competition.

Should I order the Japanese lasagne...or the 911 roll? Decisions...decisions....

Could not agree with you more.

Honestly, I'm not in love with John or anything, but he had been nothing but fair and nice to me.... and don't get me wrong, it's not like he kisses my ass or anything! In fact, I had to come in at 7pm instead of 9 for the first six months I worked here....But he was always nice and helpful and I met him, knew nothing about him, and asked him for help the way I would have asked any manager (in finding an apartment and stuff like that) and he hooked me up with my first room mate who also worked at Rhino who was very very nice. I just don't understand why everyone feels the need to trash talk him.

But again this isn't what this thread is about so enough said!!

As for other Vegas clubs, certain clubs are a better fit for different dancers. So in the spirit of discussing other clubs here's my recent experiences.

OG's was great during the summer but when I worked again in January it was dead (they never even opened up the remodeled part of the club during CES!!!). I'm talking NO convention traffic and I was constantly solicited for drugs and sex. ..but also there was way less competition.

That being said, if you had a customer coming in to just see you, you might want to bring them to OG's. You can come and go anytime (no min shift requirement), lower house fees, higher VIP rate, a more intimate VIP setting and he's not as likely to be bombarded by hot chicks wanna dancing him every five seconds while you go to the bathroom ect...Too bad the general clientèle sucks.

I also worked Sapphire's for a night and I won't be back either. I don't like the greedy management and they've let the club go. There house fees are the highest in Vegas along with their drink prices (there's a more descriptive post in the NY Sapphire thread if you're interested). That being said I know some girls thrive there but not me.

I think Treasures would be a great place to work during big conventions but I've finally managed to earn some social capital so I'm sticking where I'm at.

Social Capital is VERY important at the more well known clubs like Scores, Sapphires, Rhino.

If the VIP staff doesn't know you (or at least recognize you as someone who works there more than once a month) then you can rest assured that you WILL be bumped to the end of the line when waiting for a VIP table, and you WONT be ushered to the corporate parties.

Spearmint Rhino raised their house fees.

Night shift is now $80, off stage is $55 and stay over fee is $35.

The other shifts went up as well.

Hey sorry but I was wondering what you meant by "social capital." I am not familiar with this term but it sounds intriguing.

And ARGH night shift is $80 at the Rhino now? That sucks! Lol what can I say I'm cheap. Any increase is bound to piss me off.

I bit that term form Britney's blog so I'll let her explain it.

Just be glad they didn't start enforcing a drink minimum for the 3 for $100.

I would much rather them slightly raise their fees than add a drink minimum to the $100 room.

no shit. At OG they made you still sell drinks to do a 3/100 making it totally lame bc by the time you got your drinks ans drank them and danced there went 45 minutes!!

Social capital is the advantage that you girls who LIVE and WORK in Vegas at ONE club have over all of us out of towner that float in twice a month do NOT have.

I noticed it during CES at Scores. There was soooo much money in the house...but I didn't have access to it. The corporate parties were escorted to the VIP lounges and the house girls brought directly to them.

Sure, you can still make money without it (I still come to town once or twice a month) but it can make or break your night sometimes.

^ Ah yes. That was a large part of me being a top earner at Sapphire 3-4 years back. When the club was busy and I worked 4-5 nights a week and everyone knew me. If I wasn't taking my own customers to skybox, I was getting paged to the skybox for customers waiting for me.

Since my return to dancing a few months ago...this is somethign I totally lost. All my footing with hosts. It sucks. Luckily, it's something you can get back pretty quickly if you show up a few nights a week consistantly and grease palms good enough, a few things I haven't been doing very well lately. I should really work on that this month.

    Default Re: clubs in vegas

I am not trying to bad mouth anyone nor am I trying to start a fight. I just wanted to give some insight. I do agree with Britney in terms of social capital as well as second tier clubs. Personal experience working in smaller versus bigger clubs I make more money because there are only at most 100 girls a day versus 500 or sometimes more. You just have to be thick skinned no matter where you work and know that it's nothing personal it's just the nature of the beast. Please just take the advice I love you guys and gals xoxo
