    Default Letters to the soldiers

I signed up to write to two soldiers from Soldier's Angels. One male in Iraq, one female in Sadia Arabia. The problem is, I'm having a terrible case of writers block. Other than the normal introductory stuff (name, age, location, where I found them) I have no idea what to say in my first letters.

Here is the link if anyone else wants to sign up:

just wish them luck and safety, if you're religious you can say you'll be praying for them. Maybe say why you chose to write them letters, and you can mention about your little girl. You can update them on the world over here, new movies, shows, news.... that sort of thing.

Do they write back like as a "penpal"?

For the last few years Ive been writing to inmates as penpals. I know that is a far cry from soldiers but it suits me well and a lot of these guys have been very good friends to me.

I like to send them jokes, funny cards, internet atricles they would find interesting and etc when I get writers block. They appreciate this stuff and understand not everyone is a natural writer and they wont hold it against you. I doubt the soldiers are as bored but I think letters from home would be just as important to them but I think it would be hard to keep writing to someone if they dont write back?

I think Lola has great advice--you can scribble out a draft ahead of time and just let your mind go and write out things from your own life, things that will remind them of home...then give yourself some time and read it over an hour later or a day later and you'll have ideas on how to revise it, and use that for your final version. Mostly don't worry--they will be happy to get news from home (I remember how much a letter meant when I was in the military) and what you say will be much appreciated. Thank you for providing the link.

That's because I respond to your letters! If I had to go first I'd probably not have as much to say

Yea, I've been wanting a Lola letter too, but I was waiting until I had been on here longer so she wouldn't think I was some crazy who'd come after her. LoL & I totally understand.

    I'm penpals with kitty69 too.

That is a REALLY nice thing to do . Don't worry so much about what to write. Getting mail....ANY mail over there is the best part of their day. At least that is what hubby always says.
