    Default plumping lip-glosses?

i've never tried a plumping lip-gloss before, but there seem to be a bunch of new brands available. i'm tempted, since i love lipstick and gloss. the problem is, i have super sensitive skin and allergies. any personal experience with certain brands? is this stuff (in general) safe? opinions?

Meh, some tingle a little (cinnamon or capsicum oils) but I've never noticed any plumping.

me and my bf were in macys, and there were some samples of plumping lipglosses sitting out, so i dabbed some on. we kept walking, and 3 min later i turned to him and asked him whether my lips looked different, and he was like "yeah, you look like you got punched in the mouth" (sound of screeching breaks) i ran back there and bought that stuff soooo fast... it was lip fusion brand, i'm addicted
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

I also have very sensitive skin and tend to have allergies to a variety of products. One time at ULta I was trying the lip plumpers, and one kind turned my whole mouth area red. It was horrible and embarrassing. It took 30-45 minutes for the redness to go away, even after I wiped all the gloss off. Too bad I didn't note what brand that was, I was in too much of a hurry to get out of there!

After that horrible experience I found one gloss I like, it doesn't irritate me besides the slight stinging of the plumping ingredient. I wish I could still read the label on it... It's in a clear tube and its been used so much the brand has wiped off.

Basically if you have sensitive skin, you especially will need to hit the stores and try the glosses yourself. Hopefully you have an ULTA or Sephora nearby where the samples are all out for you to peruse.

Also, the cinnamon based glosses tend to be crap IMHO.

lipfusion is the best... it's super expensive though.. like 50 bucks!! but it definitely works and doesn't irritate, it kind of has a numb tingly feeling instead.

I use Victoria's Secret lipgloss with plumper....I love it. The first time I put it on it was really tingly, my lips were plump and glossy and I was drooling from the tingling sensation(OK almost) and one of the other girls at work said I looked like I just gave someone a blow job. LOL (we weren't open yet, and I don't do that sorta thing except for my Mr.) We all started laughing. It doesn't tingle much anymore but still has the same effects. I'll have to try lip fusion

Lip Fusion is good. They should stick to only making lip glosses because every other product they have SUCKS.

I have super sensitive skin (most face crap screws up my skin and I turn bright red), but I've never had a problem with the lip plumpers I've tried so I'm not sure if this applies in your case.

I have great luck with Sally Hansen's new lip plumper that comes in a rectangular gold tube. Its meant to be a lip fusion knockoff and it totally works like one too. I put a very healthy glob of it on though.

I use both of the Sally Hansen products. One is in a clear rectangle plastic case, the other in a pink tube. They're in the other room but I'm too lazy to get up and look at the names. Either way, they work really well, my lips are super shiny and plump right now. Although I imagine, if you have super thin lips, its not going to do a whole lot.

Another vote for Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Xtreme, it got great reviews on makeupalley.com so I tried it and love it.

Neat, I haven't tried any of the ones mentioned in this thread. I've tried Lip Venom by DuWop which worked pretty well and also comes in pretty colors and with shimmery glitter options, so those are nice. But I always have my bottle of Stung on me when I'm at the club. It works really well for me, just an instant pout and gloss before I go back out.

I don't have any skin sensitivity or allergy issues so I don't know if either of these would work for you. I agree, test test test!

I am a big fan of Lip Venom. http://shop.duwop.com/index.asp?Page...PROD&ProdID=11

I find that it smells and tastes really nice and has pretty good plumping properties. It also turns my lips a little more pink due to the increased blood flow.

A few girls that I know mentioned that they weren't too keen on the tingle. While it never bothered me, DuWop did come out with another version of Lip Venom which has a cooler, more mentholated tingle and less of a burn: http://shop.duwop.com/index.asp?Page...PROD&ProdID=13

I like all of their lip products... http://shop.duwop.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=19

My friends mother who is obsessed with her looks -can you imagine? LOL.
Anyway, she bought the Sally Hansen lip plumper and said she put it on the fine lines around her eyes. She wiped it off after 20 min or so and then put on her make up. She said it made her lines appear less visable for a few hours. I bought it to try it myself, but have forgotten to try it myself. Mabye I will do it tomorrow and let you guys know if it actually works.

If you have sensitive skin, I'd suggest the gloss that MAC has. It doesn't make you feel like, "OMG, what the hell is on my lips!?"

I'm addicted to the tingle. The more it burns the more I want it!

^I've tried this too, it helped. It's great as a regular gloss too and long lasting (I used it over lip stick for work ). But, it really tingles (so, if you have sensitive skin, it may effect you more) and smells strongly. If you like the effect that these types of products have on your lips, why not look into getting injections/fillers (I recommend them). They are more permanent (approx. 6 months, give or take) and DON'T have to look obvious or fake.

when i found out exactly how a lot of lip plumping gloss/lipstick works it kind of freaked me out 0.o i know this might be thread jack but its an old thread i guess, isn't it bad for you in general? unless it natural like cinnamon? i just high light my cupids bow and bottom lip with a white pencil and blend it in with a pink gloss and it makes my lips ten times bigger. or i gently brush my lips with a tooth brush prior to work and it makes em huge

^ I outline with lips with light coloured concealor and lightly blend too. I see a difference. I sometimes only use my gloss on the centre of my lower lip and centre of top lip to give a plump effect. Also avoid dark colours on lips if you want them to look fuller.

I'm blessed with good lips tho.

I recently bought Too Faced Lip Injection (like $30) and OMG it's amazing. My lips are big anyways, but they are like EXTRA big when I use this stuff and it tingles like a son of a bitch for 5 minutes, but it works so well.

I love the Sally Hansen one, in the gold tube. I recommend it if you like a slight burn/tingle, and it also doesn't make the skin around my lips red or irritated. It's also extremely smooth, not at all sticky but lasts a really long time.

There's one they sold at wal mart, not sure if they still do. It came in a tube with like, lines on it to look like a syringe or whatever if that makes sense. It worked well but really stung and was very sticky.

I've used the lip plumper from Vic secret, the more expensive one in the silver tube. I liked it, and the burn actually never went away with that one. But price wise I'm not sure i would repurchase.

I just threw out my old one from rite aid.. Crap I forget the brand but it was in a roundish tube, slightly pink formula and the cap is black and kind of shaped like a hat. It was sooooo cinnamony and I hate cinnamon. Burned like crazy but it turned the outside of my mouth bright red even when I was careful.

And finally i was in sephora and I believe it was too faced brand but omg i tried it out and it was crazy. I didn't pick it up but I'm thinking about it.

I'm obsessed with lip plumper lol.
