Yeah... I don't think I've ever heard it once stop at the same part. On very patriotic days it seems to go on forever and on regular ol' games I think we get to 'girt' and we're all 'girt? Who the fuck says girt anymore anyway?' and play the game.

"He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!"
I have adored every Australian I've ever met. They seem a lot more accepting, non-judgemental and less uptight than most of the American's I'm around. Perhaps you guys don't sweat the small stuff as much.. Just a thought

Yep! All the Aussie's I ended up meeting in the UK were super friendly and outgoing. It left me with a very high opinion of them.

Pretty much. Australia is the only place I know where you can actually call in hangover to work and your boss will understand.
They are pretty judgemental, though... but it's more of the 'taking the piss' kind of judgemental. They are purposfully mean so they can see if you can dish it/take it (we may be laid back but you gotta be able to take insults with the best of 'em) and then they're your friends.
Just ask an Aussie what he thinks of Kiwis and you'll see what I mean.![]()

Meet my flatmate. I knew him by his nickname of Simo for many years and never knew it was just a nickname... his real name is Simon.
Everyone calls him Simo .. EVERYONE
In re the Kiwis... oh those sheep fuckersAlways mean it in jest.
Goodness, my running joke is the my sheepskin rug used to be someone's girlfriend in New Zealand
As for our anthem .. the first verse and only rarely is the second verse (the one with the "we will toil" in it) is sung. The huge majority of Australians don't really "know" the anthem.. and if they do it is only the first verse.
I really honestly until Lysondra posted it didn't know it was that long! I can also see why we generally have fucked off the rest of it and only kept the original first verse and what was the third verse.

There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.
Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.

See? Aussies just can't be fucked to finish a song or write one that makes any sense.

You canucks love it!!!

Oh my goodness, so funny thanks for sharing!!! But I really dont get that shouting song one???? Maybe because I haven't been out in public for half a decade or so....
I had to google the lyrics to the national anthem to teach my daughter now she is in primary school. Did you make those verses up Lys or is there REALLY 5??? Lol, I knew there was two, but thought everyone was happy enough with the first one....
