Oh my gosh I have done this MANY times, esp at OG's where we can come and go as we please.
you are actually one better than me, because many times (at least 20 in 2 years) I have walked out of there without even doing one dance, and I payed my house and probably bought a cocktail too.
Sometimes I can just tell I would be frustrated and I would rather eat the 65 bucks than have a horrible night, bc if I have a bad night the next night tends to be frustrating and bad too

Oh yes. Definitely. That's one of the suckiest parts about the job, the fact that your mood affects your money.
Yep...been there, done that. Sometimes you just have to trust your gut and leave if it doesnt feel right.
Done it. Actually - the last time I worked I did that and havent been back since. This was in October...
Yes, been there done that. Your definately not alone.
I've walked in, not felt it, and turned around. This is before house and everything, but including the $50 "walk in and check it out" fee. Its a crappy feeling but if you dont feel it you dont feel it.

I've done this a few times and have generally felt OK about it. It sucks losing house fee (it's only $30 at my club) but think of how crappy it would feel to sit there all night long and not be able to leave. At least your club allows you to leave, right?
I try and follow my intuition and I'm not feeling my best, I think the customers can sense that too.
I hope you went home and took a nice bath and did something nice for yourself. There's always next shift!
nope. im too cheap to do that

I don't mean to make you feel bad, but I have never done it. I spend to much time getting ready at home and sometimes drive too long in traffic.
The closest I have ever come was the last night of a Memorial Day holiday. I did go in and made my house fee (there only $15)....in two hours! My shift was 5hrs. We were scheduled there and couldn't come and go as we pleased.
We had too many girls for the small club. I whined, so they let me go. That is the only night ever that I have left with nothing.
I have got ready at home and decided not to go in, but never made it to the club.

I've never done that (although I've wanted to). I HAVE driven all the way to the gym only to turn around once I've parked, though...
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.

Nah... I have this huge thing about 'giving up'. Can't stand letting the night get to me like that. I think I tried to do it once and came back in after a 30 minute fresh air cool down. I made $600 in an hour when I came back. Never tried it again.

I've done it. Sometimes you just know that tonight is not your night. There are some girls I've worked with who are like robots. No matter how they feel, no matter whats happening, they go in and make money. I'm just too sensitive, if I'm really not up for it, theres nothing I can do, I just have to surrender. Don't feel bad hon, just right it off as a bad night, tomorrow will be better.![]()
I've been really tempted, but no. Once I've paid the fee, I tell myself I'm stuck. I feel like if I let myself do this once, I'd do it all the time. I'm that bad.
My don't-go-to-work intertia hits me right before I walk out my front door. If I can get out the door and into the car, it's all pretty easy from there.

Nope, I've never done it. Usually if I'm not 'feeling it' it'll be long before I actually take the time to get ready and drive all the way to work.
Oh, man. I'm trying to retrain myself, but yeah, I'm capable of ruining an entire day because I spend it dreading going to work. It helps when I have a regular schedule, so I don't even think about whether or not I SHOULD go to work...I just go, because it's Wednesday. It also helps to stay busy during the day...I set definiate goals that I have to accomplish BEFORE I go to work. Something I have to do for my dayjob, something I have to get done around the house, etc. I stay busy, so I don't have time to dread work.

I've done it...last time i did it i didn't go back for a month! Some women can do it no matter what but for me if my mind is not right my money suffers and i end up feeling worse. I rather go home an do something i enjoy or get some much needed rest!
I am also working on not spending my whole day dreading going to work. I focus on the many benefits and blessings of this job cuz i really wouldn't do anything for work between my real career right now...

Oy - I was reminded of this thread today when I walked into work at 7. There were 6 girls and there was ONE customer. I promptly walked right back out. The manager followed me out into the parking lot and tried to get me to stay but I just wasn't having it. At least I didn't pay a house fee.

I walked out the other day and left my club high and dry because I was the only dancer. That's also why I left. We're obligated to work at least one day shift, and every single day shift that I've had to work I have been the only girl that shows up, everyone else calls out. And the managers are always like: "Well look on the bright side, more money for you!" but that's never how it is. How the hell do you keep the place busy with one girl?? It's ridiculous. So it happened AGAIN so I got dressed and left. They never penalized the girls for calling out. Hell, I don't blame 'em for not coming in.
