    Default Invisalign.

My son needs braces so I thought wtf, Im going to get them too. Ive learnt to live with my teeth being crooked, many people dont notice anything wrong with them. In fact some of my closest friends never noticed my teeth wernt straight for years! The truth is though I probably would have been a lot more out going and also learnt to sing professionally if I had had straight teeth.
When I was younger it really bothered me. As I got older I learnt not to care about it and that no one else does either but I still feel conscious when people compliment my smile (for some reason I often get told I have nice teeth,) or when Im modelling etc.
So anyway I found out today that Im suitable for Invisalign so Im really thrilled that I dont have to go the wire option!

Its still a couple of months before I can start the procedure as they have to send away to America for everything first, so in the meantime, has anyone else used this method? Are you pleased with it?

I haven't had them, but one of my business partners is almost through with his. They aren't noticeable at all...I didn't even know he had them until I found one in a napkin on the desk...he had taken them out to eat. He is pretty pleased with the results.

What's the average price of this procedure? How much more expensive it is (approx) than braces?
Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

I wore Invisalign for about a year and I LOVED it!!! People always said I had a pretty smile to start with, but I was self-conscious about one front tooth that was kind of twisted and projected forward a bit, giving me kind of a bucktooth look. Even though it had been called "cute" before, I knew that it would look better straightened. My bottom teeth were all totally crooked too - which I didn't care about at the time - who looks at your bottom teeth when you smile, right? But I went ahead and got them fixed too.

Major improvement! My friends were like, "wow you have the most gorgeous smile EVER and we didn't even think you needed braces before!" While I was undergoing treatment a lot of people never even noticed I was wearing braces, even some members of my own family!

Wearing the trays will drive you nuts at first, and the first few days every time you change trays. But you quickly get used to it. After that it's great, and you're right, being able to take them out when needed to eat meals is so nice. Loved being able to easily brush and floss thoroughly before putting trays back on (versus spending hours plucking food bits out of metal braces). I wouldn't bother about taking them off for kissing or anything - first of all you really need to wear these 24/7 in order to be effective, and 2nd they are so unnoticeable that even the person you are with is unlikely to notice a "feel" difference. I kissed lots of boys while wearing these! :-)

After they came off, I got me some bleaching trays from a great online company that sends you material in the mail to make your own teeth molds just like you would get at the dentist for a fraction of the cost. You mail the molds back and they send you the bleaching trays with bleach, and after two weeks of wearing overnight my teeth were sparkling white!!! Can't remember the name of the company I used, but there are several out there on the internet.

There are many factors that determine the cost of your Invisalign treatment: how extensive the issues you want corrected, how long your treatment plan will last, where you live, and the specific treatment details prescribed by your dentist or orthodontist. That said, the Invisalign system is often similar in price to traditional braces. The national average for Invisalign is about $5,000 (U.S.), but it starts as low as $3,500 (U.S.) for simple cases.

I found this is off their web-site:

    Hope this helps!

Just over $6,000 compared to just over $5,000 for regular braces. With Invisalign they have to send away to America to get all of the trays made up, whatever theyre called.
Having said that though if you shop around you might get regular braces for $2,000, it varies.

Mine are $4000 for just an upper tray. I had braces as a kid but one of my front teeth has shifted since then. Wear your retainers!

My mom had them when I was in high school. I hardly even noticed that she had them, you could barely see them! She did say that they hurt though. But that's probably to be expected, I mean, my traditional braces hurt like hell.

She also found that they made her teeth whiter. She thinks it was because she brushed her teeth so much when she had them.
