Default Retiring at 20 (I know Sad...)

I've only been dancing for 2 years and yet I'm burned out. I give alot and I MEAN ALOT of RESPECT and kudos to the dancers that have been dancing for 10+ years. How do you do it?

I love dancing on stage, and feeding off the lust of the crowd, but everything else just became so draining.

    1. Vicious competition, hostile attitude of girls
    2. asshole customers
    3. greedy management

So perhaps I'll make a comeback...someday for now I'm working at a hostess club...so ladies happy dancing

Work somewhere else! Try Portland! You would totally fit in there, and the world needs more hot, naked, Asian chicks.

Take a nice vacation. Re-center yourself. And find any place except for LA!

You'll be back! I think a lot of us "quit" at one time or another, only to come back after a few months when we miss it.

A hostess club is alot like the classy gown, champagne clubs. Less pressure because you do not do any hustling. The women sit down on the couches, and the men take their pick. We get paid an hourly, but most of the income comes from the tips of men. You dance (on a dance floor), conversate and drink (non-alcohol) so it's mostly conversation. They get charged by the hour so some men will occupy your time more if they can afford it.

You know the usual some custies are assholes some are very nice...depends on the night. I do admit I miss dancing on stage, (buying a platinum stage to fix that), however I can be a bit more creative with the clothing I wear to work. Less work, don't have to be on the floor hustling however I only make 75% of what I usually make stripping.

Nothing can replace stripping mentally and financially...*sigh*

I work at one and the money is terrible, but that is because it is very very slow that some nights I do not even get seated! When I do get seated I make between 20-100 bucks a guy depending on how long I am willing to put up with him. I usually sit with a guy for 30-60 minutes, so if i was constantly getting picked i could make maybe 400 a night or so, but the thing is that there are more girls than there are guys coming in, at least where I work.
I hear other clubs are busier but they also cater to the immigrant working class so the tips are not as good and you have to put up with more solicitation for cheap sexual favors.
There are exclusive asian ones where I am guessing the girls make more money but it is hard to learn about them because they are so private.

Hmm, I've always been curious about hostess clubs but I've never been inside to see how they actually work. My only information has come from http://www.sexwork.com/lahostess/contents.html. 75% of stripping pay really doesn't sound that bad to me. I'm really burnt out on dancing in LA and I can't travel much now that I'm going to school here.

I'm definitely going to have to look into this. I live fairly close to COI. I'm wondering if its something a scrawny, short white girl can make any money in though.

Delilah. I understand a lot where you are coming from. I "retired" last year at the ripe old age of 21. I am coming back now since I miss it (and I'm kind of poor). Take a breather from it, travel, and see what happens.

As for the money...I make 200-400 a night only dealing with on average 4-6 customers. It's only 75% of what I made as a stripper but that's enough for me.

Luckily I haven't dealt with a too bad of a customer yet...if he even starts getting grabby I tell him our time is done and simply move on.

Ok, I know I am a dude and all and I promise one post and I'll shut up and go away.

The only reason I am posting in this area is because I actually care about folks and the subject of "Hostess Clubs" should be one where you should be extra careful.

I am sure if the one Delilah is at was like this she'd know by now so she's probably working in a clean club but do know that some, I didn't say all or even many but certainly enough to be on guard, of these clubs are fronts for out right prostitution*. The owners of said places are not always upfront about this with the women they hire.

This is particularly true of foreign hostess clubs that hire American women [particularly in Japan] but is becoming more and more of an issue in the U.S.

Just know what you are getting into before you take a job at a hostess club. Talk to women you are sure you can trust who work there first. Knowledge is power.

    Just, please, be careful.

    Peace.

    * Nothing wrong with that if it is done with knowledge and consent. A woman's right to use her body as she sees fit is absolute to my way of thinking. Getting tricked into it is a whole other story.
    Fiat justitia, pereat mundus.

BTW, while we are on the subject, is it needed to point out the obvious: That it is just possible that if you are willing to judge the worth of someone simply by what you read on a website about them it might say a whole hell of a lot more about you than it says about the person you are judging?

they are definately not upfront. when i got hired the mamasan told me that she would teach me everything i need to know. she never taught me shit. we are just left to our own devices and while some customers are cool and are just there to chill, a few do ask me for outside services or for services while in the club, so i know a few men do see it as a place to find a hooker. one guy recently kept touching me innaproriately and flashed over 1k at me and told me that if i was "nice" to him he would give me some of it. He didnt want to go into detail into what he meant. None of the guys do! But Im guessing he was hoping to find someone to take home and have sex with since he kept talking about getting to know me outside the club. Sadly i think he probably did with the girl after me. Worst part of it all is that the managers dont care if the guys harrass or proposition the women. they say that its up to the girl to set her own limits so theyre not gonna kick out a guy looking for a hooker because maybe one of the other girls is a hooker. Some guys seem to think its a dating service too, but thats true for any place, including strip clubs.

the club delilah is working at is visited by the police a lot i hear so that is a good sign but i still hear about a lot of handjobs going on at the place. there is even a group on yahoo where hostess club regulars post photos of hostesses they were able to take home and photograph

I've heard the girls at hostess clubs in LA make more than strippers in LA.

There is no way in hell I could've danced all these years in LA, or staying in any place for that matter. I need change.

whoa...wow I did not mean to cause all this commotion...

No hostess clubs are not only in LA...they're hard to find because they purposely do not advertise and publicize to keep a certain clientele in and out. There is "dirty" things going on everywhere ultimately it's up to you to make it clean for yourself. I know this is easier said then done, but just because it's going on around you does not mean you need to do it too.

Yes I've heard "vices" come to the club alot which I frankly don't care because hey they keep the club in check which is good and I'm not doing anything wrong so I won't be arrested.

Some hostesses make more than strippers some do not, too many factors to the equation such as how the girl looks, carries herself, regulars...etc. I stated how much I make at the hostess club and just sticking with it.

I am not trying to encourage others to stop stripping I myself just got burned out, by no means am I trying to go on SW and disrespect the profession of stripping...like others have said I do miss it already but hey sometimes a break is necessary.

I don't think anyone is going to feel disrespected by you discussing hostess clubs. We all get burned out and start pondering alternatives at some point. I myself am actually very curious about hostess clubs. I've lost my stripper mojo and need a few months of something else before I go back. http://www.zbone.com/hc/zone/faq.htm is a site I've been browsing. I actually heard about hostessing long before I considered stripping but never thought it was actually profitable or knew anyone that did it.

Thanks for the info Delilah. Heck 200-400 in LA sounds great for being burned out on hustling. I was doing that as a top earner in a club around here last winter.

The idea sounds tantalizing to me right now. Or getting an office job, or delivering pizzas, or serving drinks at a bar.

I just don't think there are any hostess places in SD and I can't suffer a several thousand dollar/month pay cut. D:

Grats on getting out and preserving your sanity! LA is stressful enough, being a stripper there must bite.
