Looking to Dance in Philly-Body questions

Hi everyone!! I want to audition at a few clubs in Philly to help pay what my school loan doesn't cover but I have a few questions.

First, I had my daughter 8 months ago, and I have a mommy tummy!! It looks flat, but when I bend there are wrinkles. I wanted to know if the clubs in Philly would hire someone like myself. I am 5'3 and 120 lbs. I have long dark brown hair and I'm mixed (irish, black, cherokee and puerto rican). I will post a picture soon.

Also would I be able to wear a waist cincher or something that covers my stomach in clubs in Philly.

    Thanks...hope my questions aren't annoying!

I've got to tell you-if that's all that's 'wrong' with you, you'll be fine. As best I can tell almost anyone can get hired in Philly in any club, manager flakey-ness aside. I haven't seen a big difference in who gets hired at the fancy places and at the not so fancy major clubs. Maybe differences in style and attitude, but not body. Risque has a reputation for being jerks about weight, but I think that's most Bristol and Burlington, not Philly. Do a search on here for Philly. If it's not mentioned, maybe don't go there (lot of divey small clubs around). Otherwise-I've noticed darker skinned/haired girls do REALLY well in Philly!

I'm a big advocate of starting somewhere smaller and learning the ropes there... the bigger clubs can be pretty overwhelming if you are entirely new to the industry.

I worked at the Gold Club in Philly for a couple of months recently and saw a lot of newbies come there to get their sea legs. I'd recommend it... the earning capacity is not great, and the club is divey as hell, but other than that, it's a very friendly environment. The girls there are almost freakishly nice, there's a good crew of regular customers, and management is not overly crappy. It's a good place to learn the moves, pick up the stripper lingo, figure out how you'll react to giving a lap dance... and get the confidence to go audition at one of the bigger clubs after a few weeks.

Also, dancing will tone your body up a lot, especially when you first start. You will hurt in places that you didn't even know had muscles for the first few weeks. Plus, those places are dark and black-lit for a reason: everyone looks hot. I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks! I will try there first then. Is it just topless or all nude? Could you give me a few more details like do they have a dress code (gowns and stuff) and what kind of crowd is there? Where is this located? Thanks!

Gold Club Philly is downtown... look it up, there will be an address on the internet. It's just topless, and you can pretty much wear whatever, although gowns might be a bit much there. A bikini would work fine for an audition.

It's really small, with a pretty diverse mix of customers. Blue collar, white collar, rich old guys, etc. I wouldn't go there with the thought of working there forever... more like stripper training camp for a few a weeks to get your feet wet.
