    Default Renewed faith in people

    So here's what happened:

Yesterday, I bought a money order for $90 to pay an over due ticket. I used my last $100 to buy that thing and my paycheck on friday is pretty much reserved. However, I didn't fill out the money order while I was at the post office b/c I was rushing to organize my stuff and get back to the office. And, I threw out the receipt. So here I go this morning looking for the thing and it's gone. Not in my car, and I get to the office and it's not in my desk. I literally was sick thinking about it.

So I went on my daily trip to the post office (that's my job essentially) and started to ask the associate if there was anything I could do when she smiles at me and says, "We have it. Somebody found it on the table and turned it in." I was so happy I started crying. That just totally renewed my faith in the good in people. I was sitting at my desk beforehand saying, "If I found somebody's money order, I would turn it in. But people suck, somebody would've taken that." Apparently not, and it makes me feel better to know that good still exists.

    Just had to share.

Once when I used to work at a grocery store a woman got up to pay at the register and then realized that her money was gone, (she had stashed like, $300 cash in her sock of all places, wallets are so passé I guess lol) it had fallen out. So she was upset naturally and I told her to run to courtesy to see if someone turned it in, and me, her and the people she was with were all rolling our eyes like "Yeah, I'm sure someone found a wad of cash and turned it in..." but someone did! She got her $$$. The worker at courtesy said that the woman who turned it in admitted to being tempted to keep it, but knew someone probably was needing it.

Its good to know that theres good people out there, its a shame that you just assume the worst in people but unfortunatley theres alot of people out there who wouldn't have turned that order in. I'm glad it all worked out for you hon.

Oops, sorry, I just realised I mistyped. When I said you I didn't actually mean you, I just mean its a shame that we all automatically assume the worst in people, I didn't mean that its just you that does it, we all do it and its ashame that society works that way. Sorry hon, didn't mean to sound so self righteous. x

There are great people and terrible people out there. So, it would be nice if we didn't have to assume the worst, but it seems like there are 5 jerks for every good person out there. Still, one time, I had left my Louis Vuitton purse (with my wallet in it and everything) in a shopping cart. I called the grocery store the next day and someone had turned it in... cash and all.
