    Default Where in the world?

I'm finishing uni soon, and itching to get out of Australia once more. Other than Hong Kong where is lucrative to dance.

I'm not looking to make a million dollars, but to make a fair salary compared to living costs to facilitate a working holiday basically.

One of my friends worked in Mexico City over Christmas and was making around 200-500 a night which is heaps by Mexican living standards, but she also ended up spending a night in a Mexican jail and getting deported.

Is it still possible to work in Japan?

What is the likelyhood of working in Guam on an Australian passport. If I get deported from a US territory does that mean I can never go to the USA as well?

Has anyone worked in St Topez? The club they have on www.thebestdancers.com ?

What about the Carribean? South America? Europe?

As I said, I'm not looking to make a $1000 every night.. but $200+ or some other 'perks'.

"Strip clubs" in Mexico are brothels. Only go to Mexico if you want to be a prostitute.

If I were you I'd look into Japan or Guam, based on what I've heard. I've never worked in either place so I don't have the info but they seem reputable. If you get deported from a U.S. territory that is the same as getting deported from the U.S. itself, but why would you be deported? It shouldn't be too much trouble to get a work visa.

^^Not true yek. Janet has booked clubs an Monteray and Mexico city in the past that were not brothels.
Some girls in the uk came to dance in Spain thinking that they would make enough to have a holiday as well. This was in a club booked by Jason, but I also checked out the one booked by Janet. Anyway, I did end up doing fairly well, but most did not. Girls would actually get "suck" there in Puerto Banus, because they couldn't afford to go home and they would owe Jason money. Of course you know better than to leave home without money so you won't be one of those girls!

I would LOVE to work in Japan! Where in the world could I find info on that? Actually... I just want to work ALL over the globe. I plan to do just that.

I would go for Canada. Since your Aussie you will have no problem working here legally. Its a cinch for you to get a visa.

There are many places here to work where you can make over a grand a week stage dancing PLUS selling private dances PLUS tips. You can be a circuit girl, and get paid to travel the entire country.

You don't have to feature, you can just be a show girl so you still make your stage pay, don't need big fancy costumes and can work the floor with no pressure for big ass stage shows.

it may not pass the political correctness test, but you may want to consider Capetown, SA ! There is no shortage of spending by 'upper echelon' guys, but there IS a shortage of foreign dancers.

^ but you'd lose out big on the rand exchange rate. Otherwise, I'd be there! Last time I looked into it, if every night was a 'good night', I would be looking at bringing home the equiv of $100 CAD a night. Even if money isn't your main concern, that's still a bit low for travel-work, imo.

Canada is a def possibility, but that just seems boring to me :p

If I was in yor shoes, I'd probably be hitting up Hustler Club Paris.

Thank you for reminding me! I get quite a few dances from South African's in Oz and many of them recommend dancing there. I might look into it. SA would definately be a fish out of water experience for me (growing up in Asia/Australia).

Does anyone have any info on agencies that book to South Africa? Judging by the number of South Africans in Australia is probably won't be too hard to get a visa.

There are two clubs in Hong Kong that book 'foriegn' (white) girls. Big Boss in Kowloon (also non as Russian sex slave central) and Goodfellows in Central above Lan Kwai Fong. I've worked at Goodfellows before, and made good money there back in 2004 (over 2000/week sometimes a lot more - this is where i once got a $6000 tip). You have to work six days a week from 10pm until 4am. Accomidation and dinner is provided. Airfare refund for three month stay. Manager is an ASS, but I've never worked in a club where so many articulate good looking charming well presented men came in that made dancing/hostessing such a pleasure.

You make money from topless/nude dances, HIGH drink commisions and Dohans. Not sure what the prices are now, I'm sure they've gone up. I know it used to be Aus $30 a drink though. Due to the fact that the club is members onlyits either really dead, or really busy. You get seated with customers unless they request you, thus you have no real power to hussle. I've heard from a few people that have gone back that its not really as good money as it used to be. But they say that about everywhere right? And I make more money now than ever.

I would go back and give it a shot, but my dad lives there and he would KILL ME.

No there is at least one upscale place in Mexico City that my good friend worked at a few months ago. It's on thebestdancers.com but the club got raided while she was there, so she got deported since she obviously didn't have a visa.

It's next to impossible for an Australian to get a working visa for the USA. You need a sponser and you need to work for the company for 6 months out of the 12 month visa, which doesnt exactly facillitate travelling. Working illegally is basically the only option.

I would work in Guam, but it really doesn't seem worth the risk of getting deported from the USA as well to work on an island full of fallic looking sea cucumbers. I'd rather just take the risk and hide out in Miami or something. LOL. Another one of my friends has worked in NYC on and off for years without a visa (3 months here, 3 months there) and used to work in New Orleans pre-Katrina. But knowing mmy luck I'd be there two days and get deported.

I am the world's most retarded stage dancer :/ I am just never ever going to be good. I thought Canada is very stage-oriented?

I guess maybe I could swallow my pride and get some pole dancing lessons. I know its a cinch to get a Canadian visa if you're Australian.

If you're Canadian I'm pretty sure you can get a 3 month working holiday visa.

    It's a bit harder if you're Australian.

Mmmmm Paris. South Africa is also sounding pretty damn cool. What's the deal with the low exchange rate? Maybe I can just get them to pay me in diamonds.

    .
If you're into working in Guam, just buy a plane ticket and head over. I don't think Aussies need visas for tourism, do you? As long as your ticket has a return date, you should be fine. Maybe even buy a ticket for a couple days stay and tell the you're staying at the Hilton in Tumon and just don't catch the flight home after you've been hired.
The only thing I reccomend is DO NOT pack any stripper gear (nothing-- no shoes, no frilly costumes--nothing) as this is a dead give away that you are coming to work! This is what will get you turned around at customs. I am sure that getting turned away at customs will prevent you from being able to visit the US (territory or not).
I know a bunch of people here are all about Janet and bestdancers.com but I do know of an instance where Janet booked some Aussie girls for a club here on Guam and gave them misinformation about what to expect on arrival. When the girls got to Guam, they were held up at customs and quickly deported because no one was there to help them.
If you have enough money to get out here, fly out. Especially if you're just looking for a working vacation. I'm sure you're lovely and can get hired and put into dancer housing as soon as you find a place you like enough to work at. Stay long enough (probably around 8 weeks) and the club will certainly pay for you to get back.

So question.... they don't book American dancers, but if an American dancer had a UK work visa, would that be a loophole?

Great question, dolly! Im curious about the answer to this as well, as I had only my student visa when I lived in Paris and was not authorized to work while there. I do not think it will be hard to get a UK work visa, however, as a skilled worker with my current degree.

^Guam is a US territory. It would be just like working in Puerto Rico, Hawaii, or the mainland (besides the clubs running a little bit differently, of course).

When I was working @ CH in Guam, I worked with one cool girlie who was Canadian. She'd worked there three years previously as well, getting in through thebestdancers. She was constantly nervous about getting deported. I don't know what that says about the reality, but she constantly mentioned it. I could see why it's a valid concern obviously...

But if you can work in other places w/ stronger currency w/ no deportation worries, that sounds like a better idea!

And yeah, if you are a hot white chick it's a bitch to get through customs... two of my friends came in together and they said it took them about an hour, that all of their stuff was searched and swabbed, etc.

Since I'm brown and have a US passport, when I went through the passport check in Guam, I said I was vacationing for several weeks... he asked with whom and where and I shrugged and said 'I think Tumon Bay? Just with some friends, I'm just hanging out from mainland' and they let me through. Woo

(I'm definitely not hating on Guam, I think most people know how positive that experience was for me... just commenting that since it's a tiny military/Japanese island, they tend to know what sexy ladies by themselves are doing. U.S. girls? Sweep your stuff for pot leaves 'n whatnot if you are heading over.)

Down the bottom it says that Canadians are allowed to work in France for a period of not more than three months. I'm sure you can check this out on an immigration site somewhere.
