    Default Dr's or medical personnel...HELP!

I have a really wierd issue thats driving me CRAZY. I thought it was because of a pinched nerve, but now I"m not so sure.

For the past cpl days I've been getting dizzy when I move my head. The only way I can describe it is "fuzzy explosions" in my head. It doesnt hurt, but its like something in my brain explodes when I move, but it is wrapped in cotton balls so its a diffused explosive feel. Does that make any sense?? I cant think of how else to describe it.

Today however, I'm getting that feeling by just moving my eyes. It is not only irritating..its making me sick. I'm dizzy all the time and when I eat anything my stomach starts flipping until I puke.

Does anyone have ANY idea what this could be?? I dont have a GP right now(damn insurance..I cant find a decent GP or gastroenterologist that accepts it..the ONE I got a good recommendation for is having surgery themselves soon and isnt accepting new patients til he is healed) so I cant go to the Dr. right this moment.

My eyeballs are literally shaking uncontrollably in my skull...WTF???? I cant take it...

Dude, that sounds like a neurological emergency. Go to the ER!

Never waste time when your brain may be involved.

Its happened before ..it goes away and the Drs couldnt figure out then what the issue was. They thought MAYBE it a reaction to mold where I was living then...no mold here though.

I still think its a wonky pinched nerve of some kind that putting pressure on my ocular nerve...but I dont know how to crack that!

I would be really freaked out about some kind of brain thing - tumor, aneurysm, whatever. I still think it's worth the money to go into the ER for a CAT scan or whatever they do nowadays.

It could be a inner ear infection or something referred to as "brain zaps". "Brain zaps" are something people who take or who are trying to stop taking antidepressants experience. Just a couple of ideas but you still should see a MD ASAP to find out for sure.

^^^ My insurance gave me a shit fit about my CAT scan when I had my strokes. They insisted that there was no way I had two strokes at 22 so they wouldn't pay for the CAT scan. I had to spend several months throwing a temper fit to get them to pay for it, but eventually they did.

Yeah I've been trying for months now ever since I hit my head which has caused a bunch of issues, chronic migraines being the least of them The insurance wont fucking budge...they say I have to meet my deductable first. Since Dr visits, tests and prescriptions dont count towards my deductable..how EXACTLTY am I supposed to emet it?? EVER?????? And my deductable is sky high.

I fucking HATE my ins. ..have I mentioned they are trying to kill me??? Hubby is suggesting I just get it done and shirk on the bill. IDK....this is jjst getting really irritating.

Shirking on the bill is certainly an option. It's not like you have to worry about getting a mortgage anytime soon. And you never know. I shirked my ER bill for over two years and I just got another one where they wrote off almost all of it as charitable care. It used to be several hundred dollars and now it's $79. I'm going to pay it now just to resolve it, but even if I couldn't I'm alive and healthy and that's more important than having an open debt on my credit score.

Get yourself taken care of first and let the money work itself out later.

It almost sounds like an inner ear dysfunction....like vertigo....benadryl can help suppress that a bit. Normally I would recommend a prescription like antivert or phenergan, but you mentioned you couldn't get to a doctor.

Well my gyno will write me a script for anything I want, but I dont want to ask for anything not knowing what the problem is.Plus honestly I'm just tired of taking pills... I know I have a pinched nerve in my neck, but its happening now when I move just my eyes.

It isnt actually vertigo. I feel like my brain is getting shocked with tiny electric shocks when I move my head or my eyes which is making me sick to my stomach...its kind of like feeling dizzy, but not really. Its hard to explain...but the "brain zaps " article summed it up pretty well.

While I couldn't find any definitive research, I found several blogs/forums where people complaining of the brain zaps had some success with benadryl, fish oil and dramamine. Empirical data only, I know, but all are cheap and otc. Side effect profile: sleepiness and dry mouth.

CYMBALTA?? That's the culprit. I was on effexor (which is very similiar to Cymbalta) and eventually got to the point that I'd have this effect if I took my pill a few HOURS late. My doc at the time told me it was all in my head. I told my new doc about this and he said, "Are you kidding? This is very common."

As soon as I read your first post I was like "brain zaps". They were actually whole body zaps for me. You know that goo that they breathed in The Abyss? Every time I took a step I felt like my whole body was made of that. Weirdest shit ever.

Yeah, Cymbalta withdrawal is a motherfucker.

YEP!! that's exactly what it is Cam, it's withdrawl. i used to get the same thing if i missed my anti depressant for a day, or even a couple hours. exactly what u describe..."brain zaps"...weird i know, and my doc said she never heard of it either, but they obviously don't know. my mom said she'd get the same thing too, if she went off or missed her's too.

Well if it is that,at least its easy enough to treat. And here I was thinking it wasnt doing anything for me. Hubby says I've been excessively irritable lately too(though I still think HE'S been excessively argumentative, but whatever!).

I guess this is what I get for being lazy about picking up my meds...

Nice to know I"m not alone though and other people understand what this feels like. Its INFURIATING!!!!

I picked up my meds. Hopefully this will fix it. I am in awe that anyone here had a clue what I was talking about. I cant get my mind to form the words to explain the feeling(which is really frustrating). Its getting worse every day...I'm twitching today and stuttering when I talk.
I picked up my new panic attack meds too so hopefully they will calm me down. I took one about 10 minutes ago and supposedly they work in 2-3 min..so I dont have a lot of hope for these either. But we'll see.If not..I guess I have some fast acting xanax for sale, lol!!

yes, its a very weird and infurating nagging thing. I hated that feeling. and yes, I hate to say ur hubby may be right, but when I would skip days on my meds, I be very easily irratated, and short with people. its really important to take ur meds at the same time every day and you'll really start to notice a difference.

let us know if u start to feel better......

I knew immediately what you were talking about--especially considering I know you're on meds. It's so very typical. I hate to scare you, but be prepared to feel that way for at least a month as you're tapering off of it. I'm not kidding.

I"m not tapering off..I just got lazy about picking up my meds because I didnt think they were working. Apparently they are. I went and got them last night and the brain zaps are already almost gone today. So withdrawl was definately the problem.

Thanks all..SW to the rescue yet again!!

Another vote for the brain zaps, I believe it's a seratonin deficiency, I get it sometimes when I'm hungover or overly tired now. But yes, it was always at it's worst when missing, taking late, or withdrawing from effexor, which I believe is the devils spawn, but that's just me.
