    Default Religiously Wearing Makeup

I'm just curious; how many of ya'll religiously wear makeup? Like, won't leave the house with at least something on (sunscreen doesn't count!)?

The girls were talking about it at work and I was shocked by how many won't leave the house (to go to Rite Aid or something!) without at least three layers of makeup on!! One girl said she slept in it so no one would ever see how she really looked.

I don't. I usually won't wear it to school 'cause I'm there to learn (and the guys aren't particularly attractive to me LOL).

And sleeping in make up has always caused problems for me. I end up with smears and splotches on my face in the morning and I sweat sometimes during the night (yay down comforter) so I end up prone to break outs when the make up clogs the pores.

Frankly - I like being unattractive sometimes. It surprises people when I actually wear make up and I like seeing that they treat me differently.

I'm that way about eyebrow pencil, but not anything else. I like to have a couple days a week where I don't wear any makeup at all except my eyebrow pencil, so my skin has a chance to breathe. Other days if I'm going out and I want to look nice and my skin is clear, I'll just put on my eyebrow pencil and some eyeliner and mascara, but no other makeup.

I do live by my eyebrow pencil though. I won't even go to the mailbox without it.

I used to always wear a lot of eye makeup. I never got into wearing full-face makeup, I tried it once and felt like my skin was crusty or smothered or something unpleasant....but I wouldn't go out without my eyes all darkened up and stuff.

Now, I never wear makeup except when I'm working. I think I'm a lot prettier without it, actually, and with my nerdy glasses on.

Pretty much the same here... If it's my day off I'm lucky if I even get mascara on. However, I ended up getting permanent brows and eyeliner so I guess now I always have something on!

Ooh, I should get permanent brows. It would sure save me a ton of effort.

I've never met anyone else who was anal about eyebrow pencil, LOL! Good to know I'm not weird. I got it from my Grandmother, who was fantastically beautiful in her day and swore by skincare and eyebrow pencil above all else. Plus I have weird-looking brows if I don't pencil them.

^^^ Half my family is Vietnamese- a realatively hairless people. Inheriting that trait is mostly good- but you do have to sacrifice decent brows and any hope of long, thick lashes.

Are yours really light? If so, you could just them tinted. However, when people suggested that to me it would make my eye twitch because I have like, 4 hairs that try to pass themselves off as brows... so tinting wasn't an option.

Eh not me, I like looking like crap and having no one bother me. I run errands with no make-up, and often in the same shirt I just woke up in.

Geez no wonder I'm single. lol

Mine are a funky ash-gray and it stands out weirdly against my pale skin; they also have a really sharp arch (that's them in the avatar). I don't pluck them into that arch, they just grow that way. They also grow in ugly straggles all the way down to my eyelids, so I have to tweeze the stragglers once or twice a week. They looked odd when I was blonde, but now that I've got red hair the ash grey looks bizarre, so I use an auburn pencil to coordinate my brows with my hair. Looks a lot more natural that way. Plus I think penciled brows do make your whole face look more polished!

Count me in the not a chance category.

    I wear makeup
    -to work
    -to work at day job
-to social gatherings with people i don't know
-when I go out at night

    and that's about all.
Sometimes if I'm going out to a meal with my friends I throw on a little powder and mascara. I could not fathom wearing makeup to school, or if my friends were just coming over to my house, or to the grocery store for gosh sakes. Let that skin breathe!

However, I do definitely agree with Yek that penciled brows make you look more polished. That is something I always do for work makeup.

I know what you mean. Since I've been dancing, I leave the house looking like absolute shit(I look worse than "crap" lol!) and I don't even care. Before dancing, I wasn't particularly anal about my looks but I certainly wouldn't have ever worn the dreads (or shreds, rather) that I wear out now. But after getting hit on sooooo much at work it is so nice to be wandering around under the radar and knowing not a goddamned person is even thinking about hitting on me. Besides, once you've been naked in front of hundreds of people going to Rite Aid with no makeup on is nothing!

Sometimes that doesn't even work! I remember taking my dog to petsmart looking like absolute shit and some dude hit on me in the parking lot... went a little somthing like this:

Dude: Need help getting that (big ol'bag of pet food) into your car?
Me: No thanks, I've got it.
    Dude: My name is Dude.
    Me: Nice to meet you.
Dude: Would you like to get coffee sometime?
Me: Thanks, but I'm in a serious relationship.
Dude: Awwwww, that's too bad! Hey where do you work?
    Me: Shotgun Willies
    Dude: Cocktail?
    Me: I'm an entertainer.
Dude: You don't look like a dancer.
Me: I try not to wear 6" heels and booty shorts to Petsmart.

    LOL!!

Although...did you ever stop to think that maybe you're just very attractive naturally and can't even try to make yourself ugly??

I hate when complete strangers say two words to you and then try to 'take you out.' It must be working on some females or else guys wouldn't do it so much. But who the heck does it work on??

Back off lesbo, ain't gonna happen.

Kidding... it would totally happen. I was a good twenty pounds lighter then so I'm sure my old grimy sweat pants really showed off my hot ass. Or maybe he had a fetish for eye boogers since I just rolled outta bed...

I usually just wear makeup to work. Sometimes I'll get dolled up when going out with bf, but that's about it. I see no need to look nice while grocery shopping. Dirty hair, no makeup, glasses - if I'm comfy, why not?

It makes me wonder... how many times I've seen a chick out in public and just assumed by the way she was dressed/styled that she was a fashion victim. They were all probably sirens normally that just felt lazy that day! I should stop being so assumptive!

This is pretty much dead on for me as well. Add in only wearing contacts when I'm at work, and I'm full on dork most of the time. I like it that way.

I always have some eyeliner and brow pencil on. Otherwise I look 12 and browless. Otherwise, I am a mess.

I don't like to leave the house without at least a little foundation on, since I have splotchy skin tone.
I don't sleep in my makeup, though. Usually at home I don't wear any.

I wear makeup for work and visiting with some people or going out. Mostly you can find me with traces of old eyeliner or nothing at all. Peanut doesn't care and I spend most of my time with her.

I have those terrible ash brown/grey eyebrows like you, Yek. OMG I hate them. I often get frustrated trying to shape them and just shave them off altogether. I can never find a pencil I like either. What did you use when you were blonde?
