Default So, I always have the valet at my club take care of ...

    ...my car.

I'm seated with a reg and the valet guys comes in to tell me my car has been hit! Yet, he doesn't looked shocked or remorseful or guilty. He says the guy who hit me is waiting to speak with me.

I get my sweater and go outside. The valet guy is nowhere to be found. I go to his asst. and ask for my keyes as I am looking for my car.

I am told that it is parked across the street and a several yards down. This street is quite busy and across is a park and flyaway for a local airport. I attempted to cross the street with no one offering to help me, while wearing 7 1/2 in. heels.

As I approach my car, I can see that it is by the curb at an angle, there is glass everywhere and I can't open my trunk.

I fall to pieces and start crying. The guy is parked inside the flyaway parking lot. I asked him (acutally yelled) if he had hit me and he said, quite soberly, 'Yes'.

I calm down and approach him and ask if he has insurance. He does. But he said it wasn't his fault He said the way I parked my car, it was blocking almost four feet of the entrance into the flyaway. I told him I didn't park my car, the valet did.

So, we exchanged info. His truck had some damage to the side. My back driver's side is smashed, the light is shattered but still works but my turning signal does not.

He wants to go after the valet people for parking my car in an illegal manner.

Obviously, I did not pay the valet last night and I left early. I tried to talk to the valet guys and they speak Spanish as a first language. I know they speak English. They understand my text book Spanish. But of course, when they are faced with a conflict, it's all about "Me no speaky ingles'.

Also, I know this club does not necessarily do things 'by the book'. I'm afraid if I may have to sue, I will probably not be able to work there anymore.

Funny thing is, I did not want to work last night. I don't like working Friday nights at that club. It's way to overwhelming to me. But my reg asked me to come in because he was leaving town this weekend

I'm going to work the next two day shifts...and then, who knows?

This is the second time in two months that I have been meant with some sort of violent incident or weird misshap at a club.

I have to admit that topless dive I worked in for over three years, I was at least always walked to my car, never had any problems with theft or any threat of violence.

I also heard the main manager wants me back. (I left on good terms)

    (sorry so long)

I think I would have called the cops right then and there to file a report. Let them deal with the non-English speaking ( ) valet.

The cops will not show up to a scene in which either party has not been injured, unfortunately.

In Tucson the cops will come if there is more than 500 or 800 dollars of damage.

Here they come whenever! A guy backed into my friend a few weeks ago and did very minor damage, we called the cops a half hour later after having left the scene and they still came and filed a report.

Corey, is going to be any way to prove how the valet had your car parked?

Huh, the cops always come when there's an accident here.

I'm really sorry that happened to you. At least the guy had insurance, I guess. I have no advice on how to handle the situation, unfortunately.

If you're not safe and your possessions are not safe at this new club I would move on. Thinking of all the "what-ifs" would drive me crazy.

    Good luck on your situation.

In LA it's so not like that.

I'm not sure. The guy that hit me is very intent on going after them. I know who it was who took the wheel, but I don't have pics of him driving my car. I mean, why would I?

But if I couldn't, it would be the fault of the guy that hit me, I would think.

Did they give you a little ticket for when you need to get your car to leave? Either way I think you'll get the money from the insurance of the guy and the guy goes after the club. Of coarse with an insurance company, who knows...

Oh, I'm not afraid of getting fired at all. Mgmt. seems to like me, the DJ's love me (they are the only guys that do speak English as a first language). It's not about that.

It's about 'thug life'. I don't know who they know. If I start 'trouble', I am not sure of what the repercussions could be.

It's so mind boggling. I actually felt kinda safe at this club.

I understand that! I hate petty people who won't take responsibility for their actions.

No, no ticket. But I have some decent news. It is the fault of the guy who hit me, whether my car was sticking out or not. It is up to him to go after the valet company.

He was a good enough man to wait for me and give me his real information. Our cars are both drivable.

Thank goodness the guy was enough of a man to stay. Do the managers or owners know? Do you think they'd care?I bet if you mention the guy is intent on suing them they will...

With around 50 girls working on a Friday, they didn't really care, they just asked why I was leaving early.

One thing I forgot to do, he said he had insurance and I forgot to get it. I do have his contact info and driver's license. I'm hoping this helps.

As a driver it's always your responsibility to avoid obstacles.

Your insurance will go after the guy who hit you. That's why you pay for insurance, let them figure it out.

    PS
ALWAYS remember to get someone's insurance information after an accident, no matter how nice they seem or what they say.

Gosh D.Diva, I know! I was just so upset and scared! It was dark and nobody escorted me and I can't balance on my 7 1/2 inchers outside. I tripped and fell twice outside.

It was a very stupid move on my part, I totally admit it.

I just really think it was the drivers fault so try not to fret, let your insurance handle it.

Accidents totally SUCK, no matter whose fault it is!

    Agreed.

What, did he think that he can just plow through whatever was in his way? Come on! He's totally at fault and was trying to fast talk himself out of it and blame it on someone else.

Yeah, it's absolutely the guy's fault for hitting a stationary vehicle. It's not like your car just jumped out in front of him like a kangaroo.

To everyone else - the LAPD absolutely doesn't give a fuck about a car accident with no injuries. I was rear-ended and my car seriously damaged (and my brain shaken, I was fucked up for a few days) by a kid who was very obviously high, and the LAPD didn't care. There's too much violent crime for them to waste manpower on car accidents.

So his insurance company will cover the damage? That's great. At least he stayed!

    ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

Yeah, I can relate to being shaken up. I haven't even gotten dressed yet

However, my insurance people are really, really cool. They are really doing what they can to go after the guy and even try to talk to the valet guy (even though it's not really his fault).

I have rental available if needed and they seemed very concerned.

I am still kicking myself for not getting the extra info I needed, but I did get the CA DL, and they can provide proof if the sucker tries to bail. I don't think he will since I know where he works.

Well, my brain was actually shaken. I had vision problems and dizziness and for about a day I was bumping into things and falling down, and talking like I was retarded. It went away after a few days though. The LAPD really couldn't have cared less.

I'm glad your insurance people are being so awesome!

Damn! That is messed up! Good ol' LAPD

Yeah, the people do seem cool. I am only going to use that rental if I absolutely need it.

I'm so glad this is turning out ok.

I read it the other day and was totally cringing at how awful it would be to have this happen. The clubs around so. cal I've worked at have all had indoor garages and when I travel I'm usually in such shitholes I'm lucky if there is a bouncer so I've never dealt with a valet. I'm paranoid about letting people touch my (admittedly POS) car. Being car-less sucks so much in LA.
