How would I safely go about doing this? She's a little cutie-pie but I think she'd be even cuter in a fun color.![]()

If you think school is hard, try being stupid.

Tie-dye would be cool!
I can't picture how I could safely do that?

The only thing I would suggest is food coloring...but since ferrets have such sensitive skin I really wouldnt recommend it at all. The chance he'd have an allergic reaction is too high.
you need to do it with all natural vegetable dyes.
like beet water (boil processed beets) or blueberry or any plant that stains (leaves juice on your hands). Carrot juice may work, haven't tried it.
but these are water soluable, so they'll wash out.
if you google vegetable dyes you can find ones to order that are not water soluable.
you have to post pics if you do it.

I've seen it done with Manic Panic on dogs, but ferrets are very sensitive, skin-wise. Hehe, woozles. *squee*
I have a white ferret. He'd look bad ass dyed crazy colors.
What about a vegan hair dye? I googled it and Manic Panic came up... which I thought was weird? What if I brushed the color on the top part of her fur and didn't massage it in? I was originally just worried about her licking herself and ingesting it. I didn't think about it hurting her skin.

If anyone finds a link for animal-safe dye, post it! I wanna dye my ferret it it's safe!

Call a veterinarian and ask. I'm sure they'll have some recommendations.
Doggie salons do dogs, and ferrets are way easier to handle. I love white dogs with chi chi pink and blue ears. Yes. I said it.
Ultimately... have you considered just photoshopping the ferret?
I have taught that the sky in all its zones is mortal and its substance was formed by a process of birth
I would def consult your vet first. Ferrets have really sensitive skin and even the all natural stuff could irritate him.
It would be cute looking but I really dont recommend it.

Special Effects hair dyes are pretty baller. I made multi colored mice in my crazy youth....

People used to dye chicks when I was little. I'm pretty sure they used food coloring, but I have no idea where they got the chicks.
Super cute though!
What does the ferret think about this plan of yours?

One of the funniest thread titles I've seen![]()

My white ferret dies himself on a daily basis.....although I dont think thats her intention.......

Sorry I really don't like the idea. Why put the animal thru the whole process which it will no doubt find unpleasant and stressful?
Plus as Cameron said it could potentially harm the ferret, why would u wanna risk that?
I dont find animals dyed funny colours cute, I find it humiliating for the animal. They look good in the colours that they are naturally.
There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.
Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.
Waaiiit!! Is it OK to own a ferret here now? If so, I want one!
I used to have 2 ferrets. Otis (a sable) and BB (a silver mitt). They were both fat, especially BB. I miss having ferrets and would love one for my kid, if we had the room.
I wouldn't dye your ferret. She is pretty just the way she is.
Well that's a bummer that there isn't a safe way to do it.
Sunshine, you're not supposed to have them here. I drove to Yuma to get mine. They do sell the food and all of that at pet stores and vets will work on them here. I have a great vet who loves ferrets and was able to figure out a problem with her a few years ago (the peice of shit who fixed her left in an ovary! It was from before I got her). So yea, a lot of people have them... you just can't take a stroll around the block with them.

Its still illegal to own one in New York and Cali...there may be other states but thoes 2 I'm sure off...and no...I just was typing half awake,lol....its most definatly A little PRINCESS,lol.
