    Default RIP Jean Paul

I woke up yesterday morning to find that he had passed away during the night. I feel pretty badly myself and am also sad for his sister who's still just a child and is going to be all alone when I'm out every day. It was probably something like an aneurism/blood clot in the brain since it happened without warning - he had all his shots, was eating well, had healthy stool, and he was full of energy and happy even when I when I was watching Family Guy with him the night before. He might have also just had a weak heart that gave out - he was the runt of the litter.

His short life was pretty well documented in pictures here. That one in the sink I posted was the last one I took of him. Bye bye Jean Paul, you and Simone were/are the perfect kitties.

Awww...I'm so sorry. He looks like a real sweetie.

Are you planning to have a necropsy done to ensure it wasnt something contagious?

He was the sweetest thing. I had never seen a friendlier and happier pair of cats and I've seen a lot of cats.

A necropsy was $700 at my vet, and I couldn't get the ashes either if they did that. Looking for an alternate location was impossible in my state of mind at the time - I was very sad - and if you wait too long the blood coagulates reducing the amount of info they can discover. Given he had all his shots, had no signs of illness whatsoever, the adoption place advised me not to when I called them and the woman there has been doing this a long time. I couldn't think so I listened to her and it still seems like the right idea now that I'm more clear headed. Of course I'm going to keep an eye on his sister though. I'll probably buy a new litter box tomorrow and thoroughly wash all the bowls and such tonight just in case too.

I can use that 700 to help living kitties, or adopt a new friend for his sister once I'm sure it wasn't something contagious or environmental.

Poor Jean-Paul. I can't say I know you Ody but your love for your cats was quite apparent to me. Although he was only here for a short time, he was fortunate to have lived in such a good home.

I dont blame you. Since he was up to date and healthy I'm sure it wasnt anything contagious.

    Oh No! How sad!

I believe that you gave him the best life he could possibly have lived. He was loved and happy and that's what matters.

How is Simone doing? She might be sad for a while.

Ody, I am so sorry. I'm sure Jean Paul's life was better for having you as his owner, even for as short as it was.

She's in my lap now, purring away. She gets some of her best lap time while I'm on SW. She seems OK, slightly more attention needy but that makes sense since she lost her playmate. A little more talkative too. Usually I lock the kittahs out of the room overnight since they wake me up at 6am otherwise but I might have to stop that - she cried at the door this morning so much that I had to let her in anyway. She was probably lonely and stir crazy.

OMG, honey, I am so sorry for your loss. He was a beautiful boy and you were both very fortunate to have crossed each other in the path of life. Big hugs and kisses from a fellow kitteh lover, Kat.

Aww, I'm so sorry. Losing a pet is so hard. I still miss my cat that died 4 years ago. I'm a sap that way.

It's a bad day for kitties, I'm afraid. My in laws' cat got into the stupid neighbors' anti-freeze and died this morning. They said it was horrible. Why do people have to be so inconsiderate? He was a great cat. I am mourning with you today.

Oh wow that sucks. At least he had a very happy if brief kitty life, with the best owner a kitty could ask for.
