Default as seen on tv question

is it b.s. when they say "call in the next 18 minutes and we'll send you a second X for free?"

I want to call tomorrow to get my magic bullet, and that way my friend can get one too and we can split the price. wee!

I'm fairly certain that it is all BS and it doesn't really matter whether you call in 2 seconds or 3 days later. That commercial airs on so many different channels at so many different times, how would they know exactly? Also I'm fairly certain that there isn't even a planned time for that commercial to come on. The company pays the station to air it X amount of times per day, and they do it at their leisure. If they don't end up airing it exactly the right amount, like when you accidentally see a little blip of a commercial, they are due a partial refund.

Anyway, my point is call within 18 minutes if it makes you feel better, but I think you will get "buy one get one free" at any time you call. Besides, because of this particular strategy, they never sell just one for the full price anyway, so just think of it as "two for the price of two."

You know how many commercials there are? Probably one every 18 minutes!

Yeah its b.s! I remember reading a thing about it in my Marketing class; they say theres a time limit to call but really, you get the same discount whenever it is.

ya a time limit will create a false sense of urgency witch will booste sales at the commericals airing.

yha walmart has a "as seen on T.V." section, if you don't want to wait.

When I was little I used to make my mom call after the time limit was up and see if she could still get the deal. I thought it was so funny (and that I was soooo smart) knowing that they were lying, ahah

already checked target and I refuse to buy from walmart.

edit: plus there's a free blender, free juicer, 2 for 1, and month diet powder (last one I could care less about)
