I got as far away from home as possible the minute I could! But I can see where you're coming from because if I had a relationship with my family it would be great to be able to spend quality time with them. With me, I just relax and do things that I enjoy without having to worry about keeping anyone else happy. I have some studying to do (boo!) but I'll probably also have a nice long bath, watch a dvd, do my nails, a bit of online shoe shopping . Especially if its hard for you to not be with family, I'd say just do things that make you feel good!

Yeah being away from my family on holidays is hard. I love them bunches but they're 15 hours away so I definitely don't get to see them as regularly as I'd like. Plus I'm a Cancer so I get a lot of my strength from the feeling of home and security and family. My best solution is to make your own family celebrations at your home, if you're feeling lonely or if you feel comforted by traditions like I do. Invite friends over and have your own party. I feel a lot better as long as I can feed that nurturing part of myself.

For me i am not near family but if I was there would be no easter party or activties no one gets along and I think knowing that I am not missing anything is harder then if I had something to miss.

well, I got 'volunteered' to cook (and pay for, and clean up after) Easter dinner for something like 16 people ! I love my family, and I love to cook, but there were quite a few moments while I was baking pies in the middle of the night, while I was glazing the ham, and while I was collecting empty beer bottles, that I wished I was 4 hours away !!! Thank god that the ESPN basketball games are finally over ... wooosh, just like magic my house emptied out almost instantly after the final whistle !
