Default How long did you wait?

I was just curious how long you waited after your BA to go back to work. I don't mean 100% either. I mean, just got your ass in there, walked around and did a semi fun set? I know it will be MONTHS before I can do the pole work I've come to love. I'm having surgery on Friday and I'd like to return in 2 weeks. Does anyone think this is doable? I have a high pain tolerance so I'm hoping that will help me. The DR. thinks I should be able to go back, but REALLY what does he know about dancing, I thought I'd ask the professionals.

Are you having them under or over the muscle? If it's under, wait a month. And don't touch the pole. You really need to let your body heal, it's way better to wait an extra 2 weeks and not screw anything up.

My doctor told me I could start doing light exercise after a week, and boy was I NOT ready to do so. It's a major surgery, and better safe than sorry.

Are you going under or over the muscle? That part depends on how long you will be out. Also where is he going in?

I went under both times now and the first time I waited 4 weeks to go back to work. They were still so high, tight and shiny when I went back. Also at the 2nd week my nipple incision scars were still very noticeable.

I'm going under the muscle, with a mastopexy also. They are doing a donut areola incision. I can get away without taking my top off if they look too bad.

Wait at least a month. You don't want to tear anything up on the inside from the lift. Give yourself proper time to heal. You'll need it. I wouldn't suggest any pole work for a few months either.

my club didn't have a pole. I felt fine at 3 weeks, and went back around then. Mine were unders, nip incision. Airdance club, and I took it easy and just focused on vips and not lots of dances.

I wasnt allowed to raise my arms over my head for a month,no less dance. I had a "reg" job when I had it done,so I went back to work in about a month. Dancing..I"d wait at LEAST that long.

He has me stretching over head, behind back and behind butt from the beginning. His clients have had increased healing rates with this.

Everyone still heals differently at different rates. Just be sure to listen to your body.

I worked at a nude club with a girl who still had her stitches in when she began dancing again. Her boobs look horrible, I can't blame it on dancing so soon because they looked like that when she auditioned(befor she strated up dancing again).

Oh man, don NOT go in to work earlier than a month minimum. I stayed home as long as I was economically able (I think I did 3 months). It is a lifetime investment those boobs - surely they are worth the time off.

Well, when you've just put in implants the tissue around the bag has to be stretched to make room for it and on top of that its all swollen. This causes a lot of pressure on the bag so its MUCH easier for the implant to rupture or for the stitches to pop open.

One story was about a girl who didn't listen to her doctor and came back and did pole work right away. As soon as the stitches get torn you can't just sew it back in. You have to remove the implant because its not sterile anymore. It was a mess.

The other story was just a woman whose implant ruptured and she didn't even know how because she had followed the doctors instructions. Turned out she had gone boating and the impact of the boat hitting the waves was enough to rupture the implant.

It doesn't happen very often- most people that follow the instructions heal normally and don't have any issues, but if you decide you're smarter than your doctor and don't follow their instructions, you can mess up your boob job.

I had mine done under the muscle 2 1/2 weeks ago and I don't think I'd be comfortable to go back yet. I'm not in much pain but I'm not comfortable enough to dance. The implants still feel a bit tight and heavy. I'd say take as much time off as you possibly can. Why risk damage to your lovely new boobies just for the sake of a few weeks? You'd be so pissed off if you went back early and something went wrong.

I worked with a girl who went back to work too soon after getting unders and while she was giving a dance a thoughtless customer squeezed her boob quickly before she could tell him "no" and next thing everyone in the club sees is her running out of the LD area to the dressing room sobbing because of the pain.

Clubs are just so dirty in general. Even if you're wounds healed magically fast, your immune system is still compromised as it is trying to heal all the internal damage. With all the germs flying around there it could be really easy to get sick and prolong your healing time.

If the incisions aren't fully healed, thats obviously a very easy way to get an infection.

Over excerting your body in a time it's trying to repair itself is just a bad idea. I'd plan for a month off unless you feel fabulous and your doctor says that you can go back sooner, but I wouldn't plan on it.

A girl I've worked w/ in the past had to have an implant removed because of infection. Poor thing. She had one boob for at least a month or more. She was stuck being a housemom during the ordeal. Yikes. Freaked me out big time!

    Another horror story:

Girl I worked with came back to work 2 weeks post op. Boobs looked fine. She decided to climb the pole. Both her implants bottomed out, her nipples now sit ON TOP of her boobs, and her scars (which were in the crease), are half way up her boobs where her nipples should be.

There will be no pole climbing for 7 months. I will have to be diligent, but I've been told that's how long I need to wait, from I think Alena.
My boss said if I wanted to come in and not really do much but sit and chat with customers that was fine. Really, I'd just have to put on an outfit and sit on the floor. I can at least make about a hundred just doing that, so it might be worth it once I'm feeling OK to drive AND last 8 hours.

I worked with a girl once who started doing pole work a few weeks after she got them done. Her incision got all fucked up, and then one of her implants actully started rejecting from her body through her skin (not even the incision, just a random part of her boob). It was a disgusting festering mess. It stank.

She didn't have enough money to get it fixed, couldn't work. Ended up being a door girl for a while. The whole thing seemed to go on for months.

Lesson learned, make sure you have money to take time off, and to get shit fixed if it fucks up :/

After I got mine done I just worked on the door for a few months. But I took off two weeks before I even did that.

Yeah..the physical nature of dancing(not to mention if a random guy grabs one before you can slap him away) at LEAST will give you nasty pulls and stretch marks. Wait as long as you can possibly wait to go back.,..you dont want to go through all that pain and expense just to have them turn out looking like crap!
