    Tax Rebate

From an email forward I got today...

President George Bush said each one of us would get a $600.00 tax rebate. It was previously slated to be $800.00, but they dropped it to a $600.00 tax rebate because of various budget problems. Now it looks like it'll be $300.

Now, if we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China; if we spend it on computers, most of the money will go to Korea or India. If we spend it on gasoline it will all go to the Arabs... and none of these scenarios will help the American economy.

We need to keep that money here in America, and the only way to keep that money here at home is to drink, gamble, or spend it on strippers.

Currently it seems that these are the only American businesses left!

nope, it should still be $600, i got the notice from the IRS today
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

Its only less if you are on welfare or something like that.

It said they will be sent out in May.

Spend it on food or professional services. You are right; most of our consumer money goes abroad. And that is because we'd rather buy a lot more, wherever our money goes, than spend what we need on stuff that keeps our money at home or even in the neighborhood. Pretty disheartening, how stupid we are.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

NOTE: anything I post here, outside of a direct quote, is my opinion only, which I am entitled to. Take it for what you estimate it is worth.

Yep. Shit is NOT cheaper at Wal-Mart! Not in the long run!

I never got a rebate check the last time we did this. I wonder if I'll get one this year. I looked up the list of who gets their checks when, and if I get one it won't be until close to the end of the summer... bummers. Oh well. I'll make sure I spend it on booze and strippers if I do get it, LOL! (Or I'll be a good girl and put it into savings.)

Yes! Men, if you're reading, heed this advice and invest your rebate check in lapdances. It's good for the economy!

You know, if we buy lap dances from the wrong strippers, some of that money might be headed to Mexico, or Columbia, or Afghanistan.

Yeah, don't you love how the IRS spent all that money mailing out notices telling you something that you already knew about?

The thing is, the money is just going to get absorbed into everyone's general fund. Once its there, there's no way of differentiating the rebate dollars from any other money we have. Eventually, I am going to have to buy gas, a new computer, or some nicknack made by a nine year old girl in some oppressive third world country.

Which country owns all the banks and utility companies? That's where the lion's share of the rebate funds are going to be heading.

One way to make sure it goes towards the US economy and not some other country is to spend a portion of it every week at your local farmers/growers market. That will be good for the enviroment too

Any rebate I get is merely going to go toward next years tax obligation. $1200 is only about 10% of what my husband and I pay in Federal income tax, so I might as well just give it right back to the IRS and not pretend like it was my money in the first place.

Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!

My letter said UP TO 600 bucks. Then when I filed my taxes Monday it said I would get 300 of that. I am hearing they send it by social security number. My aunt said she wouldn't get hers till September. My number starts with a 2, I'm confused.

Like Susan and Paris, mine's also just going right back into the beast. Though in my case, it'll be going towards what I owe from 2007. (Unlike the previous 3 years, I know I didn't manage to put quite enough into quarterly taxes this time.)

    Sigh.

They'll send out payments by the last two digits of your SSN. So if yours is say XXX-YY-ZZ04, you'll be getting yours early. If its XXX-YY-ZZ97 you might be waiting a bit longer.

You'll also be getting yours earlier if you get your normal refund by direct deposit as opposed to getting a check. Everyone who files their return on time should be getting their rebate by mid-July.

It so sucks for me that they are doing it by the last two digits of the SSN. Mine is in the last half of the 90's
