thats what im saying.. there were times i'd post something and then go to bed and by the time i checked again it was 10 pages deeper.. so i didnt even SEE if people responded to me and i didnt care because if i were looking for a response i wouldve gone about it a different way. i think that often times people missed a lot of posts because they were gone for a few hours and 5 pages popped up, so they didnt even read it. it was hard to go back and look for things.
haha, kind of related, but like when someone DID respond to me, i felt stupid making another post just to say "lol" or whatever. you know? like when LJ said she was really a 12 year old boy with missing balls.. i laughed.. but i didnt make a post about it just for a smiley face or something because i had nothing else to say and i wasnt feeling creative that day.

^^^
maybe it's just that I only visited it about once a week and I just didn't really "get" how it worked. But I felt that every time I wrote something I was kind of ignored. Anyhoo im glad to know it wasn't just me![]()
There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.
Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.

I never notice these 'cliques' that occasionally get brought up, and I don't think that I am in them/it.
Whatever. I'll miss TRT.
I think some posts in TRT got missed or over looked (as opposed to ignored) because TRT just moved so fast. I posted there a fair bit and some of the posts got no responses whilst others didnt.
Oh for the love of corn flakes....

so just to be random, it's really pouring with rain here in melbourne and i absolutely love it.
oops hope this doesn't get this thread shut down.

so is this the new random thread? I didnt read thru all the posts, but i used to like in the random thread daily despite it's cliquenesss (it never hurt my feelings, i think it's obvious the main poster were friends, etc.)

For some reason this reminds me of the thread killer thread. It would appear as though the person who posted last in TRT would be the ultimate thread killer, lol.

I will miss the random thread, it was like chat only you didn't have to stay there....
I have to agree, and it will be missed. I think in the end it was also spreading faster than it could be handled. Sometimes 10 pages would pass in a day, maybe more. I never really kept track but it did move at a rapid pace.
The random thread, also ate a lot of threads that would just die due to lack of replies. If your thread bombs in the lounge, it does not take that long for it to be swept under by the amount of new threads/posts.
Have fun people. Take care of yourself and each-other.
One more cup of coffee for the road,
One more cup of coffee 'fore I go
To the valley below....
Slowly moseying my way to the exit.
A Blogging?

gotcha...well RIP random thread I will miss everyones problems that were worse than mine everyday..you used to make me feel good.
Without TRT, it will be much harder for my boyfriend to stalk me. He'll actually have to open and read multiple threads instead of just one. All that extra work might make his brain explode!![]()

I think certain groups of friends did post there (us Jerz people for one), but I also think friendships formed because of it. I will miss it.![]()

darcy, i'm curious, then, since apparently i'm so wrong. please explain to me why anyone should be responded to in a thread meant for random thoughts. i honestly, 100% cannot understand that.
Its just a bunch of people being crybaby's and wanting some attention .^^^

Me too. I'm not in Noo Jerz but I liked it.
It let me be all stalkerish without anyone catching on. Cliques? Drama? Ignoring? Pshaw... we're all adults. Can't we act like them? Just a little?

I do feel a little bad it was sucking up so much bandwith or whatever though.
Because there ain't no tits on the radio
My thought exactly.
Yeah mine too. And that's a 6 foot in the air head, here.
At the risk of being redundant, I maintain my opinion that if there was a symptom of a problem in Random (e.g. cliqueiness, people feeling like their posts are overlooked, trolls), then it will manifest throughout the entire forum. Random was one location. I see several people who post threads that get maybe one or two replies. I've done it myself. If people don't respond, they don't respond. Likewise with cliques--they'll threadjack andand offer cookies and whatever on any thread on the forum. And trolls are definitely not limited to a location.
I still feel that closing Random was addressing symptoms, not a problem. I predict that we will continue to see the same issues, hear the same complaints about "this isn't like how it used to be," and people will come and people will go. But there will be more (banal) threads to come and go on.
