    Default questions about my b.a.

    got a few questions.
had my b.a. last tues, march 18. i also had a lift done on 1 side.

question 1: @ my post op today my doc did not say anything about massaging my boobs. i've heard from some people that you should, but he didn't say anything so i don't know? my incision was under the areola on 1 side and all around the entire areola on the side w/the lift.

question 2: when can i wear a regular bra? just for nights i wanna go out, this sports bra they gave me to wear doesnt work w/cute shirts or anything w/thin straps, so i was wondering if it's ok to wear a regular bra (without underwire) for nights i go out or work the door at my club??

question 3: for anyone that had a lift just wondering how long it took your scars to heal around the areola, and when you went back to work? i'm super broke, but when they removed the sutures today i renamed my boob Frankenboob, because it was kinda a scary sight.
i think emily had this done? if anyone has any insight, please post. thanks guys!

you should ask your doctor these questions...as for my scars, they looked okayish around 2-3 months, and I used pasties to cover them (with bandages underneath to protect!) in the meantime

    1. Massage or not depends on if you have smooth or textured implants. Do you know what you have? My doc didn't say anything about massage until a couple weeks post op. I think its standard to let them heal a bit, let any bruising settle down, etc before you start massaging. I'd wait for your docs advice before attempting any massage.
    2. From what I've read, most girls were advised not to wear a regular bra for some time after thier BA. The time can range from a few weeks to a couple months, its really up to the doc and what he thinks is best.
    3. I dunno about that one, my scars are under the boob.

I was advised to massage one week post-op. And I have to wear a sports bra for 2 weeks. Then I'm clear for underwires. Woooohooo!

However, I'm not going back to work for at least another month. I decided to take 6 weeks off so as not to let the chance of some grabby douchebag ruin my investments.

    1. Different doctors have different opinions. Some doctors think that implants place under the muscle are massaged enough by the muscle itself and don't need to be massaged manually.
    2. Your doctor should answer this.
    3. This varies by the individual. Some people scar more than others. If your scars healed quickly in the past they will heal faster and better this time too. Remember to take your vitamin E.

I had to wear the post surgery sports bra day and night for the first 4 weeks and then only during the day for 2 further weeks - so 6 weeks in total.
After that I could wear other bras.

I have textured cohesive gel implants and my surgeon said not to massage them at all.

You definately need to call your surgeons office and find out the answers to these questions. they are very important to your post surgical care.

There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.

Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.
