I feel so stupid. I came home with $11 after tipping the minimum $20 to the dj and tipping only $3 to the bartender. I sold zero private dances and only 1 dollar dance. I kept getting turned away. The only things that made me feel a little better were 1) Only 3 girls were able to sell VIP dances tonight; the other 11 of us were S.O.L. and 2) A couple of customers came in 30 mins before closing and they happened to be there on my first night (Monday. Their friend bought 3 dances from me on Monday.) When I went on stage, one of the guys was happy to see me, he called me over and told me that his friend hadn't stopped talking about me since Monday. (He wasn't there tonight) He asked me what days I work next and promised that he'd bring the guy in for me.
I'm reading hustle hut all day tomorrow...there's gotta be a better way to hustle than what I'm doing now. I look at it like: if 3 girls got dances, I could've too. Even though, I think I just wasn't the guys cup of tea. They'd get up and leave the tip rail when I got on stage and turn their back to me when I'd try to walk up and sit with them. The DJ kept yelling at me, telling me that I was spending too much time with the customers to not be selling dances. He kept telling me to approach other customers, but to be honest, everyone either blatantly covered their faces and turned their backs when I came OR they were one of the dancers boyfriends. What was I supposed to do?

I'm really sorry your night sucked. Unfortunately, some shifts are just slow and lame and there's not much you can do about it other than coming back the next night and trying again. I've had a couple of $11 nights myself- but your next shift could be a $500 one.
I felt like quitting last night, but the other girls there kept insisting that I shouldn't take that night as a standard of what it's like to work there. They just urged me to work this weekend and promised that money is normally way better than that. Thank you all for understanding and for your encouraging words.
