Ok, I looked. What an amazing story! I'm glad there was no pictures tho. Its an interesting phenmenon and I'm glad the guy recovered in the end but I'm just too chicken. Even hearing about what the twin looked like made me feel really icky.

And most Americans could also probably get an operation for their child when the child is still an infant. My mom used to work as an OBGYN nurse and she says there are tons of things that can go wrong that are not common knowledge simply to not scare expectant mothers.
Well that makes a bit more sense.
You know, I think some of these defects can actually be blessings in disguise. It's almost magical in a way. I know many abnormalities make life more difficult in some ways, but they also make a person more special and can help them and those around them see life in a new way. There is a strength in all forms of being unique. It's part of what makes society interesting and continue to evolve.
If I got pregnant again and found out that I had some kind of deformed fetus, I would decide whether or not it would be life threatening or extremely painful/difficult to live with, and if not, raise the child to have all the self-esteem possible. Challenges can make us into very strong people.

Does anyone else think it's noteworthy that this bizarre fucked-up stuff keeps coming from India? Like this, and the eight-legged little girl a few months ago, etc.? I mean is it a result of pollution or what?
