Default A real view of the war in iraq

    www.kaboomwarjournal.blogspot.com/

Here is a blog that someone in my husbands command is writing it is very well written and very eye opening to me. This is the side of the things the news never shows there is more to life then stupid democrate drama, call girl scandels, and dancing with the stars heres the real world threw the eyes of the men that live it.

This is not in anyway a politcal post but please read and post your thoughts and pray for my husband and his unit. thank you krchab99

I have it open in another window and I've been reading it. I hope I haven't said anything that was in any way disrespectful to you or the efforts of your husband in Iraq krchab. I've thought of you and your children a couple of times while posting in the war thread.

I quickly found myself engrossed in LT G's musings and accounts of events. This brief glimpse into the life they live as well as the things they sacrifice serves as a reminder to not take our comforts and freedoms for granted. Thanks for sharing.

That was a good read, and a reminder of the life and death, to act or not to act, decisions soldiers are facing over there.

I read this with great interest, and thank you much for letting us see it, krchab99--it is good to get the dose of reality from Lt. G. I will have all of these men, along with you and your husband and family, very much in my thoughts.

I think we need to end the war in Iraq, its said what is going there we us soldiers dying and innocent iraqi family getting killed. How country needs a great person like Obama for President, thats who I am voting for.

I'm going to check it out right now. I like reading first hand accounts. Is there much censorship of active duty soldier blogs, so you know? I'm sure things like mission details are off limits, but I'm talking about things like personal experiences that are already "on the record". I guess the censorship of photos of caskets of the fallen soldiers in the media is really what I'm asking about, here. Or can they write or post about whatever they want if it doesn't compromise security?

Okay, I just went a read for a bit (read Thursday's blog). Do most soldiers in Iraq feel this way? He sees the American presence there as futile and draw parallels to Viet Nam.

I want to fly over there myself and bring him home.

Thank you agine for takeing the time read it. As for censorship on the blog i am not real sure of the rules i know he has to use fake names of soilders and places but i am not sure whatelse he is pretty open in it tho. My husband wont be done with his tour over there till march of nxt year we have date of redeployment as of yet tho i hope to see him in november for a vist and that will be good. I talked to him today he called for my bday. He seems okay but i worry.

Thank you agine for your concern and kind thoughts.

I'm going to read it as soon as time allows. Thanks for posting it.

A friend/coworker has been in what I call BFI - Baghdad Fucking Iraq - for a year. He runs protective details out of Camp Victory. Scary stuff. Can't wait for him to get back - only a few weeks to go. I hope he's willing to talk about his experiences. I write him every month. He's one badass 55-year-old First Sergeant who can run the twentysometing kids under his command into the ground.

edit: I read through several days of the blog. It's f-ing great, with a lot of my beliefs on the situation confirmed. Thank you so much for posting this. Very enlightening.
