Default Recovering erased pics from a memory card?

Can anyone help? Come on, I know some of our members are techies. I only took a couple of pics after they were erased, and it's a 4G card, so if it works like a hard drive, they should still be on there somewhere, right?

If I can recover them I'll post some nudie pics. Pweeeese!

They may be recoverable, but there is no guarantee.

Step #1 is do NOT make any further use of the card.

Step #2 - You need to find/buy an undelete utility and give it a try. I have no recommendations though.

With luck, depending on what other file activity has occurred since you deleted the files, there is a chance they are recoverable.

p.s., the reason is that files are stored on memory cards using much the same code as files stored on hard drives. The file system does not erase the data by default, but simply marks the space used by the data as free to use. The problem the space may have already been used for other data and it is too late. No way to know without trying though.

Recovering data off a card takes a little technical know-how.

What kind of card is it? Brand and everything.

What caused the data (as best as you can tell) to be deleted? Was it accidentally deleted? Did you format the card in a camera? Did you just notice they where gone?

Do NOT attempt to use the card. Any further uses can complicate the issue if not make the issue permanent.

Uh Oh. I just looked and it is a Kodak SD Card 128 MB. (I thought it was my new 4G card I used).

They were deleted while the card was in my camera. I had nekkid pics of me on it when my family showed up on easter. I couldn't find my other card so I panicked and deleted them, so my parents wouldn't grab my camera to take pics of the kids and get a suprise.

If it's a really big deal, I'll just take new ones. I just thought it would be pretty easy. My ex was IT and he made stuff like this look so easy. I used to crash the computers in the comp lab that he was over in college all the time. I'm so BAD with electronics.

    Thanks for helping!

Try one or two programs quickly to see if it can be done easily.

I don't know what the most popular programs are but there are a few free or programs with trial software.

128 MB makes it a lot easier to handle, if you wanted to email an image of the drive to someone and have them do it.

Yea, I'd just take new ones.

JPG and other Image map data is a two fold attempt. Getting the file back, and actually getting it to open.

Plus your drive is so small, if even ONE pic was taken since then, you're probably gonna hit a dead end.

Sorry Miss Jasmine! Some picture post viewers will be truly heartbroken! You know, if the body goes along with the avatar, that is.

^^Thanks guys! I was afraid of that once I realized I had used my tiny ass card. Ah well, it's probably better to take them over anyway. I've lost a few lbs since then.

And yeah, it's me in my avi. A really bad, drunk pic, but it is me.

PhotoRec is file data recovery software designed to recover lost files including video, documents and archives from Hard Disks and CDRom and lost pictures (thus, its 'Photo Recovery' name) from digital camera memory. PhotoRec ignores the filesystem and goes after the underlying data, so it will still work even if your media's filesystem has been severely damaged or re-formatted.

    Hope this helps

Look into PhotoRescue from this site... http://www.datarescue.com/

    Am i too late?
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

I fully support taking new ones, and then posting them!
