    Default Stealing our electric>

We're having the electric company look into if someone is stealing. Our bill this month was $1,600. No Fing Joke. They're going to read the meter again, and hopefully it's just an error in the readers part. If not something is totally wak. There is no way our bill CAN be that high. We didn't even use heat for plenty of those days. Something is VERY wrong! Any advice?

You're lucky you don't have the police busting down your door looking for an illegal grow operation. Probably a misread meter. (don't they have those things on a network and self-reporting, yet?)

So E did a LOT of investigating into this and it looks like they read the first number wrong...which would put us 10,000 over. I'm going to call the electric company and find out how they are reading out meter. They say wirelessly but it is SOO old. Also, there used to be a mini meter in the front yard, it's gone AND there was no work to make ours wireless. I want to know what is going on. I'm calling them today.

i KNOW the meter reading is off. If they won't admit to it they will hear from a lawyer friend of mine. I don't think it will come to that, as the phone person AGREED that the bill was too high. We know the problem, and I insisted the meter reader guy TALK to me tomorrow when he re -reads and that he re-reads the meter in the backyard (the main meter).

The guy comes today, I was thinking maybe I'd carry around E's old M-1 (non functional) just to scare the dude into thinking I'm right. Think that's too rough
